The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 06:16 PM) Nice post. I do hope Hillary goes for an all female ticket. She's a lock, so I at least think it would be cool to have all women in there. If she had any true guts she'd pick a woman running mate. She won't though. I wonder which young male is gonna join up with Hillary so he can be president for eight years after her eight years. It's gonna be a very young African American male IMO. No offense intended Greg but you're like worst political analyst ever. You have me cracking up with your observations...

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) Should be going to the Bears/Packers game with work people/vendor and I believe it's in a box. Even though we will get trounced I'm stoked to go, will be my first time at a Bears game and only 2nd time at Soldier Field. I was so stoked before the beginning of last year's NFL season (since most folks thought the Bears would be contenders, including me). This year I'm like, whatever...

2015-16 NHL thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) Voluntarily going home with someone doesn't tell you whether that person later consented to having sex or not. She could have left with the intention of setting boundaries (3rd base only, not waving him home), she could have been too drunk to actually consent in the first place, she could have initially gone home with the intent of having sex but changed her mind. But it's still frequently used to discredit date rape victims. Dude, I have had situations were a girl went home with me and we didn't go all the way. I just said that way more times than not it ended in sex, and I'm not an aggressive dude, like the type that badger a girl into sex, I'm laid back. And I never banged a girl who was way drunk or high. Tipsy, like who hasn't but I've never had a bad incident with a girl afterwards.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) jesus christ no, going home with someone does not mean that you have to have sex with them I said usually, not 'have to'...wow, am I wrong? Like 9 out of 10 times a girl went back to my apartment with me, I ended up having relations with her and I never forced, drugged or coerced them in any way. Goddam I must've underestimated my stud factor if that didn't happen with all you fellas

And she went to his residence after they met at a nightclub. I've been married over a decade now but back in my day, if a girl willingly went to my house/apartment/place after meeting her that night, it usually meant sex was gonna happen...I don't think that's changed much. If it's proven Kane totally raped that girl, obviously he should go to jail but she did go to his place, I mean come, common sense people.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 10:35 AM) So the Police statement is being run with by media outlets without actually reading it. The statement says they are investigating an incident that occurred at Kane's house but didnt actually say they were investigating Kane himself. Interesting detail there. This might sound s***ty but let's not right away believe her version, women have been known to do this sort of thing to shake down rich celebrities.

The Democrat Thread
I'm meh with Hillary but would vote for her over any of the nuts on the GOP side (I wouldn't mind Kasich but he isn't going to be the nominee). I like Sanders but this is Hill's to lose, and she'll most likely romp the GOP in the GE.

Music and more Music
QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) I thought there was a thread already on music. well either way, i don't know why, but just wasting my day at work, writing on the sox and listening to some classic rock. Rush best all morning and i do love me some great drums and guitar. Hemisphere #1 9:01 in great rift and great backup with neil pert on the drums. still amazes me, the drummer writing all the songs .... right there with phil collins. ? Peart doesn't write the music, that's Lee and Lifeson, Peart writes the lyrics, not the songs.

Police Need to Start Chilling
How about if cops stop trying to milk the citizenry with minor traffic infractions and just concentrate on legit bad people? A lot of police departments have quotas for cops to reach, a certain number of traffic tickets have to be handed out to get that cash flow. Cops are out there looking FOR ANY REASON to stop people and look for any reason to give you a ticket instead of a actually doing what they're supossed to do, serve and protect, they're more into shaking you down than anything else. Source; A former CA police officer who was married to a cousin of mine.

Another Movie Theatre Shooting
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 07:09 AM) Not sure if serious... If Tex was serious, he being from Texas explains it all. Living in Texas the last year or so has taught me that Texans sure do love their guns. Anyways, with today's 24 hour news media and the internet, these tragedies will get blown out of proportion. It is safe to go out in public, how many millions of Americans go to restaurants, shopping malls, sporting events, movies, concerts etc every day compared to how many times does this sort of thing happen? The odds of that happening to you must be astronomical, pretty sure you getting killed in a car accident is much more likely than being killed in a mass shooting, but that isn't stopping anyone from driving. The last place I'd want to be is in a dark theatre full of armed people, with the confusion and chaos, the death count would be much higher, how would you determine who's the bad guy and who is protecting themselves? I don't know, it seems like a recipe for disaster.

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) I also don't understand how Vela's elbow was a yellow but Panama got a straight red in the first half (and I don't have a problem with the straight red but Vela's was much more intentional). It's obvious the refs tried helping Mexico win by giving them a man advantage. When that didn't work, they manufactured a penalty. CONCACAF knows they lose money with a Panama Jamaica Final. This Mexican team doesn't deserve to win, sports commentators in Mexico are saying Mexico was gifted the Final and this Gold Cup victory (if they "win"), is a complete sham...and I agree 100%.

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) If CONCACAF had any balls they wouldn't let Mexico host any games until they can actually get their fans under control (and yes I realize this game isn't in Mexico). When throwing things at opposing players is the rule not the exception there is a serious issue. There no chance of that happening, CONCACAF loves that Mexican money. CONCACAF doing everything they can to make sure Mexico advances to the Final, especially now that the US is out. Mexico doesn't deserve to win with the s*** level they've shown in the Gold Cup.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) Mexico fans are the worst. How CONCACAF has never done anything about them is ridiculous. I hate to admit it but yeah. Mexican commentators are getting on the Mexican crowd to behave. That wasn't a penalty. The Mexican commentators are livid at that call, even suggesting that the Mexican player who takes the PK should miss it on purpose. I hope Guardado misses. Shameful.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 30, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) All a pipe dream unless Rose decides to play for less that what he's making now and/or he is no longer in Chicago, although I do agree they should be shooting for that spending flexibility in case Davis is open to coming here. Random PG Butler McDermott Mirotic Davis I could live with that.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) The Thunder certainly don't have "it" whatever that is. They haven't been the same since losing James Harden. I realize they had a ton of injuries. I tell you, Thibs would have been the perfect coach for that team or maybe Van Gundy. Hiring Billy Donovan is a head scratcher. Hope he's ready to deal with Westbrook, who seems to me to be a real prima donna. As far as the Cavs ... this is why successful college coaches should never consider the NBA. Blatt is getting fried by the media and will probably be fired if the Cavs lose in the Finals. Just because they have LeBron. They are conveniently forgetting Kyrie got hurt and Kevin Love as well. ... Blatt is known in the media and by fans only as the clown who wanted to call a time out when he had none but was SAVED by the great Lue. Kerr is not exactly getting credit, either. NBA coaches are all buffoons in the playoffs as far as the media portrayal of them. Only one coach is acceptable each season, the one who wins it all. The rest get ripped to shreds in the press and with fans and are lucky if they get to keep their jobs. Yes I still think Cleveland is going to win the series.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) It has. The plethora of injuries is very concerning to me. We can't go 48 hours without a key player going down, or at the very least being severely hampered, by an injury. The last five years has basically been cheer for any team that's playing against LeBron. But even the biggest LeBron hater has to admit it's horses*** that we're not seeing the best players on the best teams healthy and going at each other in June. This finals is basically like when Jordan was going up against the Celtics in the 80's. I don't even want to watch. I know what you're trying to say about LeBron being undermanned but let's not go overboard here. The GSW are far from a proven championship team with 5 HOFers like those 86 Celtics had...anyways, big win for the Cavs. Good to see LeBron being super aggressive and keep shooting the rock, FG% be damned. He's the best player in basketball, sometimes you gotta win ugly games like tonight. What's up with Curry, is he choking? Two overall bad Finals games so far.
