  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) Realistically it would take an epic 1969 style collapse for them not to win the division. I wouldn't be shocked, they're still the Cubs.
  2. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) Did you guys really think a politician of Hillary's caliber would be indicted? Sure you hoped but to honestly think it would come fruition? Politicians have always played by separate rules just like the nation's rich people. It is what it is. And it happens on boths sides of the aisle. No one in the Bush White House faced criminal charges for lying about WMDs, Cheney never was indicted for outing a CIA agent that put in risk and might've even cost the lives of secret agents, just because he wanted to embarrass Ambassador Wilson after his NY Times piece in which he debunked many of the Bush claims in lead up to the Iraq War. High treason that went unpunished, only a slap on the wrist to a Cheney underling.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) BLM has Obama as a counterbalance (who can't be perceived as being too "easy" on Africans-Americans, otoh he's often called an "Uncle Tom" so there's no winning no matter what he does vis a vis race relations). The theory is that Obama's moderation/centrism becomes more acceptable as result of leftist assaults. Not quite the same as the 60's, when you had the Black Panthers pushing the envelope by the time Malcolm X was assassinated...with Malcolm X (after he was kicked out of the Nation of Islam by Elijah Muhammad) much more moderate/less incendiary and King more frustrated and almost radical after his problems organizing in Chicago and Albany, GA. https://www.yahoo.com/news/obama-questions-...--politics.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-amato/r...html?yptr=yahoo Guiliani has lost ANY respect and good will he built up in America after 9/11, pretty hard to do as a former top-polling candidate for president of the United States just four and one-half years ago. Rudy Guiliani has always been a fraud. Glad people are finally starting to see that now.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) http://www.denverpost.com/2016/07/09/phila...cial-profiling/ Castile was stopped FIFTY-TWO times by the police over the span of 14 years....WHAT THE HELL? MINNEAPOLIS — When Philando Castile saw the flashing lights in his rearview mirror the night he got shot, it wasn’t unusual. He had been pulled over at least 52 times in recent years in and around the Twin Cities and given citations for minor offenses including speeding, driving without a muffler and not wearing a seat belt. He was assessed at least $6,588 in fines and fees, although more than half of the total 86 violations were dismissed, court records show. In other words...stopped for being black.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 06:44 AM) God damn Joe Walsh is an awful person http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/j...ticle-1.2703883 When I first read the quote and saw the name, I thought for a second it was the Eagles guitarist great, lol. So glad it wasn't him.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) Looks true. Great way to escalate. Yeah, especially since the US is a very safe country, hardly any violence unlike other countries.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) ...ok, and back to the original discussion. I think we've derailed this enough and it's no longer even on the proper subject. I agree and just because I said I'm afraid of cops in the US and I feel safer back home
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) No, that's NOT a fact. I posted data to prove this wrong, stop repeating it now. This isn't an opinion of yours. Stats skewed by cartel members killing each other. Context
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) You don't think that gang violence skews the numbers in the US, or especially in Chicago? Yes it does, but so does the drug cartel related violence in Mexico. There a very safe parts in Mexico where there are no cartel related violence (where I live) and there are dangerous parts where the cartels are going at it, Tijuana and Cd Juarez, for example. You guys think all Mexico is non stop violence is just way off. There wouldn't be communities of American citizens living in Mexico if that were the case. Y2HH has no idea what he's talking about.
  10. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) That's not what a voice of reason is. You can feel free to feel safer in Mexico than in the US despite Mexico being FAR more dangerous than the US. You try to cherry pick one geographic area, and then compare it to one of the US's most violent geographic areas as if that matters. People believe that GMO's are bad, and vaccinations cause autism too...and they're free to feel that way. They're morons, but they're free to feel however they want. I can see you didn't bother to watch the video I linked. The US is all around more dangerous than Mexico, fact. The numbers are way skewed because of the drug cartel killings but if you mind your own business and don't go messing with the wrong crowd (drug cartels), you'll be fine. I'll take a page from you and also add that about 95% of murders in Mexico are cartel related (I'm being generous, probably 98%)
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) His home town has a substantially lower crime rate than Chicago (not where he's at right now anyway) or San Antonio (where he is actually at). Either way who cares, he's talking about how he personally feels as a minority around police in this country, and there are plenty of statistics to show that minorities do have reason to be more fearful of police than white people do. Thank you Finally a voice of reason and someone who doesn't feel I attacked him for saying I feel safer in Mexico than in the US
  12. You guys have no clue Take it from a fellow American living in Mexico, in fact, there are many youtube videos in which American citizens say they feel safer in Mexico than the US. I'll post them later when I'm home so you guys don't think I'm BSing you.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Damn, thats a pretty big city Ive never heard of, and 22nd in the country in population? s***. Queretaro is actually one of the biggest cities in Mexico and has a pretty low crime rate, comparable to first world nations.
  14. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) That may be true, but you act like Mexico is safe in comparison. Mexico absolutely dwarfs the US in murder rate, murder rate per capita, and overall homicide rate. While we dwarf them in gun crime (obviously), our murder rate is still astronomically lower. And since police kill about 25x less people per year than the flu does...I'd say you're odds are getting killed by those dastardly american police officers is pretty low. It's one thing to be upset by what occurred...it's another to start making claims that just don't stand up to scrutiny. http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/c...e/Violent-crime It depends on where you live, I GUARANTEE you that Chicago has a much higher murder rate than the city of Queretaro, which is where I and my family live. I don't know why you guys get your panties in a bunch for me saying something THAT I FEEL. I feel safer in Queretaro than I do in San Antonio. Anyways, I don't want to make this about me but I have no idea why Y2HH attacked me for a personal opinion I posted. We are free to post opinions aren't we?
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) Just lol. Yet another person living here, claiming how much it sucks, how dangerous it is to poor little ol' them and threatening to leave...yet won't actually do so. Please, just go back, send us a postcard. I'm sure there's someone that'd be more than willing to take your place. I hope all the republicans that claim to leave if hillary or bernie get elected do when/if it happens. I hope all the democrats that make these equally stupid claims do the same if trump gets elected. And I hope everyone that feels it's too dangerous to live here does the same. Um, I actually do live in Mexico, I'm in the US temporarily taking care of a family matter. I might have to stay until October or November but I really do want to go back home. BTW, I've never had an bad encounter with the police in Mexico...can't say the same here in the US.
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) Wash, rinse, repeat. These cops never learn. Of course they learn. They've learned that nothing happens to them because white suburban juries NEVER convict them, so it's open season on the rest of us.
  17. I'm also scared of cops, I've been harrassed by them before and I've never been arrested in my entire life. I'm always on the look out for cops and I try to avoid them to lessen the chance of an encounter with them. Jesus Christ, I gotta go back to Mexico where I fell safer, too many gun toting, trigger happy crazies running around (and that's just the cops).
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) I can now say for the first time that I am officially a "witness." So before last night, you were just a nutrider?
  19. No greg, you're always wrong
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) LeBron just made top 5 status with this. Maybe top 3. Only MJ and Kareem have legit case over LeBron. He's solidly in the Bird, Magic, Shaq, tier.
  21. Let's be honest, Kyrie destroying Curry in this series was the key
  22. LeBron doing the little things to win but needs to hit a couple shots now with a minute left in the game to seal the deal
  23. Put up or shut up time for LBJ, his team has shown up tonight, time to bring it home
  24. LeBron needs to get aggressive and take it to the rim since his jumper is garbage, the game and title is there for the taking
  25. Draymond Green owning this game. GSW is so deep, Thompson and Curry not having much an impact and Green has them on top heading into half time.
