Scott Podsednik time?
QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 08:29 AM) What made me angry was the complaining of the Swisher trade. How many times last year did I read posts calling for Swisher to be traded...RIGHT NOW!? That's a hell of a sample size. Clearly, Swisher deserved to be traded, after all, you read it alot.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) Yes, probally because i do not base things off of three weeks, or one season even. Both have ways to go until they can be given that tag, in my opnion How about a CY Young for one of them?

Any arguement about Lincecum and Greinke being the best pitchers in their respective league's, right now?

Scott Podsednik time?
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) or of course never trade for Swisher in the 1st place. Yes, because your beloved Sweeney would be loads better.

Anemic White Sox offense in the last 8 games...
QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) At this point in his career, it's not very likely. Actually, hitters tend to get more selective as they get older.

Scott Podsednik time?
Oh, god, Really? Can't we just, you know, try Kroeger in Center? I loved Pods, but this doesn't seem like it can end well.

GAME THREAD: 4/29, 1:05pm start, vs SEA
QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) Yeah this ones over. A series loss to the Mariners at home is disgusting, no matter what their record currently is. Yeah, shame on us for being down 3 to 1 in the 5th to a significantly improved team.

4/28/09 Mariners @ White Sox - Game 1, WGN
For a man with such a funny name, Don Wakamatsu brings little joy to my television screen.

Someone should tell WGN that i'd rather see the first pitch of an inning, then here about how many Hops are put in a damn beer.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) Didn't he try to devour Cueto? It was clearly an accident. Cueto was small enough to fool Griffey, but after the first stab of the fork, the Kid just couldn't go through with it.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 06:49 PM) I've always been confused at how people thought Griffey Jr. was going to be a clubhouse cancer with the Sox? It's like people are surprised he was a good clubhouse guy. When he was in Cincinnati, every one of their young outfielders said how amazing Griffey Jr. was with them. This might shock you, but Griffey eats babies. It was a big concern for the team what with Buehrle having a kid about every two years now. Kids on the Reds were just too young to care.

MLB Draft moved to Prime Time on MLBTV
IS this only going to be on the MLB Network, or will it be on ESPN again?

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
Assuming Gordon is out, another big problem is going to be John Salmons overshooting again. Our best bet is to just have D-Rose drive to the basket, with Noah/Thomas under the hoop ready for the rebound.

4/27 Games
I'll give Mccullogh two more starts to keep pitching well, and if he does, i think he should get promoted. It's clear that he's really not that good a pitcher, but it's also clear that being in AA can do nonthing more to help him. I say we just bring him to Charlotte and have him replace Gobble or Williams.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 02:08 AM) I'm sure glad the refs decided to stop calling fouls on L.A. after the Jazz cut the lead from 22 to 6. I've always been skeptical of NBA officiating though. Too true, Jazz couldn't even buy a call. Loved Sloan cursing out the ref's and getting tossed.
