And generally speaking I like that approach, but I also like having a diverse set of skills & talents in my system. We desperately need more high ceiling prospects IMO.
Looks like the OF logjam won’t be ending anytime soon. Reallly wish we went for someone with a bit more upside there. I feel like Hostetler is never going to draft more than one prep ever again.
Here is where things will get interesting. These next four picks will determine which high school guys like big overslot deals in place and might be options at #46.
I’m guessing Wilcox & Edwards go in the next four.
Hostetler said the depth of the draft was HS pitching and I think there will be some good arms still available at #46. Having said that, I won’t complain if a good college arm falls that far either.
Nick Hostetler specifically said that most information being shared this time of year is misdirection. I’m sure they were told something, but that dosn’t mean it was true.
