Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I get you can’t force a specific type of return, but I have no idea what Getz’s plan is for the OF. At some point we got to find a way to add some young OFs. I am not concerned about the infield if I’m being sincere…lots of options even if Meidroth, Colson, etc, don’t end up being core guys. The OF is a wasteland outside of Braden (cross fingers) right now. Just frustrating here because the Mets have several OF prospects at tier that should be around these same guys mentioned above.

I mentioned it earlier, but his power last year was exaggerated by a 92 percentile barrel rate. Can he replicate that again? If not, I’m just not sure what’s so exciting about his profile.

I don’t think Vientos is a “bad return” per se if you believe he’s just having a bad season and there is a good chance he mostly returns to form. I just worry that 2024 was an outlier for him and that he ends up being a below average 1B.

Yankees have discussed Austin Slater per Buster Olney
Good. Would love to see one early trade.

If Tim Elko could play the OF he’d be a far more interesting dart throw

You talking about Vientos?

We have hope, we got The Pope!
To be fair, Tray is very much pro Judaism and Chicago style hot dogs, he just hates Justin Ishbia, private equity, and the thought of a ballpark at the 78 site. And unfortunately his takes on the latter three subjects quickly become delusional and he starts hurling insults at those who refuse to accept his false realities.

2025 MiLB Catch All thread
He feels like a guy who will be part of the major league mix fairly early into next year.

We have hope, we got The Pope!
These can’t be serious posts. One, he is not the controlling owner yet. Second, does his ownership stake increase if he infuses more capital into the org? Third, what we would even spend on during the middle of the season? Fourth, do you have any idea how private equity even works?

Look, I’m not going to defend Chris Getz on this because we obviously blew a tremendous opportunity to cash in on Robert after the 2023 season. But there was zero reason at the time to expect his results to fall off a cliff like they did. The injury risk was no doubt legit, but the risk of his value eroding like it has was very low. More importantly, I think we do have acknowledge how broken this org was when Chris took it over. There is some rational is saying the org wasn’t in a spot to feel confident in their ability to identify the right talent in return for Robert. I don’t think Chris should get a free pass for that by any means, but I can see some argument that he wanted to fix the infrastructure before trading a 25 year old coming off a massive season with four years of control.- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Give me that Big Red Dog!- Tauchman Rumors
I agree. I need a legit 40 FV prospect to move him, which isn’t exactly a heavy price theoretically. But if teams only offer an actual lottery ticket (35 FV or worse), then I would hold. I get all the rationale for “selling” for whatever you can, but getting a scratch-off just isn’t worth it IMO. There is some value in having Tauchman around next year, especially when the upcoming OF free agent market is super light.- Tauchman Rumors
A quote from Fegan in a recent Sox Machine article on Tauchman:- Tauchman Rumors
SD is another possible landing spot. They desperately could use a LF who could help push Sheets to DH and would probably prefer a cheaper option. Tauchman makes a ton of sense there. They also could desperately use a catcher as right now their primary catcher is Martin Maldonado. I’m stealing this from Future Sox, but Korey Lee could make a ton of sense for them. He is performing well with the bat in AAA, but is completely blocked at the moment at the major league level. A Tauchman + Lee trade would help address two major needs for them and neither player would be a rental. Will need to give more thoughts on a potential return.- Congrats to Jacob G.
He had a 112 wRC+ from April to June. He fell off a cliff in July. Maybe it was just a bad month and things will turn around, but definitely doesn’t leave me warm and fuzzy on Jacob.- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

What the f*** just happened??- 7/27 GT - Cubs at Sox (1:10pm CDT)
He’s a rookie…these guys are going to make mistakes. I don’t disagree on the arm, but otherwise he’s exceeded my expectations for him at SS. That doesn’t mean he will stick there long term, but I still think he can believe he can be passable until a long term option presents itself. Maybe that’s Colson, but the scouting reports I read made it sound like 3B would be his eventual home. - Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
