  1. Unless we can get Burnes for a Madrigal based package, just sign Richards and keep the ammo for the deadline IMO.
  2. I think you guys are going to be real upset when this Burnes stuff turns out to BS and we end up with my man Richards!
  3. But that says they’re adding a curveball and still developing the change-up, unless I’m interpreting that incorrectly.
  4. What do you mean he ditched his changeup this year? We are talking about Kopech right?
  5. You’re underselling him here. Plus fastball, plus slider, and a changeup that was flashing plus before injury. Dude was dominant in Charlotte after a rocky beginning and looked like the real in the starts I watched. IMO, he legit has one of the highest ceilings in all of baseball. Now, the fact he’s pitched in 2 1/2 years is a problem if you’re counting on him for innings and he still will need to go through an adjustment phase in the majors, so there is an argument for dealing him for a guy like Burnes but that is simply due to his ability to fit our window.
  6. Said he was zipping his mouth shut and throwing away the key, which suggests something was getting hot & heavy in regards to Burnes.
  7. Dead silence from the foodies...Not Cishek is going to have a hard rationalizing that tweet if nothing materializes here.
  8. The Blue Jays are now above the White Sox in projected WAR per FG after this and the Yates signing. While mostly meaningless, it would be nice to regain second position in the AL ?
  9. I still Brantley gets like 2/$28M and that doesn’t really work for us with Vaughn in the mix. I’d rather sign Cruz to a 1/$15M deal in all honesty.
  10. Alright, say you have $15M to work with and you trade Madrigal, Heuer, Stiever, & Kelley for Burnes. How do you cap off the offseason?
  11. I’m not betting on him making through a full season (I’ll take 100 quality innings), but it appears you’re assuming he would have broken down last year had the season gone on for even one more month which is ridiculous.
  12. It does make sense in that regard, but I’m losing zero sleep not matching that deal.
  13. You do realize that Richards was completely healthy last year right? Maybe finally getting TJS cured his problems?
  14. And within their theoretical $8M budget! So either something is close on Burnes, they got their sights on Richards, or these foodies are full of shit.
  15. What if the Brewers can swing Hader for a young starter like Paddack and then turn around and trade Burnes for Madrigal, Heuer, Stiever, & Kelley? Yes, they’re likely worse in 2021, but ultimately they get immediate replacements for both Hader & Burnes plus a cheap starting 2B (allowing Hiura to be moved to 1B/DH) and two pretty good pitching prospects. For a mid market club in a bit of flux there is some logic to it.
