  1. This is your God given right as an American and as a victim of Chicago sports ownership. I admire your chutzpah. Me, i'm just gonna gut out the intervening years between now and Jerry's demise with the same sense of bemusement and resigned frustration that have marked every season since 2005. Ciao, bella.
  2. The popular thinking is that Michael Reinsdorf will keep the Bulls in the family and sell the White Sox, but who knows.
  3. Hey, I didn't say i'd like it. Do what you can - voice your displeasure to the org and/or media, cancel your tickets, whatever. Just know that there is no history of the Sox being responsive to fan concerns, and a very long history of insulating their failures from any real consequence. Basically, if you're someone who wants change after repeated failures (really, all of us), you shouldn't get your hopes up.
  4. Don't sign anyone, win 65 games and get another top 5 pick. There's no free agents even close to these two guys for a few more years, so just wait and re-evaluate next year.
  5. It's over boys. Sorry it turned out this way.
  6. I read it more as "we know WS ownership is all in on Machado because he's literally at the bargaining table, and while all three prefer Machado, SD and PHI ownership may not be as enthusiastic".
  7. It's nice to see Rosenthal weigh in, and simultaneously confirm we are still in it. It does leave me wanting more, though.
  8. And yet, they've been very eager to say how big a deal it is for them to have a seat at the table. I think they know Jerry won't pay when it gets hairy.
  9. I think the implied message is that the Sox aren't willing to include such a signing bonus
  10. I dunno 8/240 but with a 20MM signing bonus probably nixes any tax differences with a similar offer from the Sox. The Sox can get around that, of course, by upping the offer.
  11. Not sure how "Reinsdorf is negotiating directly with Lozano, so it's in his hands now" has morphed into "Hahn can do wrong". Fire his ass tomorrow, I don't care, he hasn't done shit, but know that nothing is going to change as long as the chairman is in charge.
  12. Like I said, go ahead and blame him, there will be plenty to go around. As far as the pursuit of Machado goes, though, its mostly on Jerry.
  13. Yeah, there have been multiple reports that Reinsdorf is negotiating directly with Lozano. If the Sox don't land him, you can blame Hahn, but you should blame Jerry more.
  14. Last year was brutal, hopefully this year is better. I don't think that, past Eloy, there is much coming to look forward to in 2019. Hopefully Moncada can break out but i'm much gloomier on his prospects than you are. He just doesn't make enough contact with pitches in the zone.
  15. It's cool Jack, i'm not optimistic they sign either guy as well.
  16. Ol Bobby Nights seems pretty sure this is happening.
  17. I'm pretty sure the Pads can sign Machado with no problems. I'm not sure they will, but people are right to be nervous. Rosenthal's article made it clear that Jerry wants to "chase" the market - with his history, I can't help but feel like that means he won't pull the trigger.
  18. The link posted up-page? That seems to say he is signing with Philly, although its not entirely clear.
