I dunno 8/240 but with a 20MM signing bonus probably nixes any tax differences with a similar offer from the Sox. The Sox can get around that, of course, by upping the offer.

Last year was brutal, hopefully this year is better. I don't think that, past Eloy, there is much coming to look forward to in 2019. Hopefully Moncada can break out but i'm much gloomier on his prospects than you are. He just doesn't make enough contact with pitches in the zone.

I'm pretty sure the Pads can sign Machado with no problems. I'm not sure they will, but people are right to be nervous. Rosenthal's article made it clear that Jerry wants to "chase" the market - with his history, I can't help but feel like that means he won't pull the trigger.
