  1. I think most of this is overblown, but these two points particularly. Every agent is always trying to get the biggest deal in history, especially Machado's. Also, he played for the Dodgers. Why wouldn't attendance / fandom matter to him?
  2. maltiple spources telling me the wite sox sign bice hopper 10 yeer 400 jillion
  3. Lord, that is awful for the Cubs. They would have to be desperate and insane to do that.
  4. Vernon Wells, Alex Rios, Prince Fielder (although none were exactly albatrosses, the players were all underperforming when traded)
  5. The Reds did genuinely improve their rotation by adding Wood. That said, Puig and Kemp are mostly expensive dead weight, so it kinda evens out. They'll probably trade Senzel and Trammel for Kluber now.
  6. The difference is that the Cubs bad contracts are generally more long term (J-Hey, Darvish) or else are for players they need to compete (Hamels and Lester). I'm not sure I see a way for them to free up payroll without getting significantly worse on paper.
  7. Yeah I don't think the luxury tax is gonna stop them from signing Harper. There's lots of ways they could go, but there's one way that is a lot more likely...
  8. Nobody has any sources and everyone is just guessing.
  9. Pretty good for a guy who looked cooked a couple years ago.
  10. There will be quite a lot of #108'ing, to say the least.
  11. TBH i'm more concerned about the safety of our boarders if the Sox sign both of em.
  12. Lol can we stop using women in analogies, this entire board is so bad at it.
  13. Not so much that he knows he's signing there, but the Yanks situation kind of speaks for itself.
  14. Keep in mind that even though he's visiting teams this week, he probably will not make a final decision for a few more weeks.
  15. I mean, what selling do they have to do? Manny and the Yankees both know the score here. They probably tossed out a few figures and that was that.
  16. Well, he's a former GM, which should mean he has connections, but Jim Bowden is also a former GM, and he's always wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.
  17. Yeah i'm thinking he probably left for NYC sometimes yesterday evening. He'll spend his off day there.
  18. Last I head it was just "next week" so it could be any time.
