  1. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) We are facing Manny Parra for the very first time. That's right never faced him before. Should be an exciting game. Oh... well maybe it isn't so cool to be on national tv today then. I wouldn't want to get embarrased with a no no thrown against us.
  2. We get to be on national tv today? Cool..
  3. I can't see the game... I'm out in Rockford and they don't get WCIU out here? What happened? I take it that Carrasco came out and took a dump on the mound...
  4. Are we that sure that Tyler Flowers is a lock to contribute in the big leagues in the next few years? I mean I think with Orlando Hudson at 2nd playing like he has been for the Dodgers and with Javy playing like he always does we would definitely be in first place in this division.
  5. Can you guys imagine where we would be if he had have signed Orlando Hudson and kept Javier Vasquez? I don't care if he can't win in big games - he was an innings eater that got us to big games in the fall.
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) Brian Anderson is quietly becoming an option again in my book. He had a nice series. For a big sereis the youger guys semed to have better AB's than some of the vets. While the results don't prove it, they did just fine. The fact Thorton only pitched in the blow out tells me all I need to know about Guillen's handling of the pen. Maybe Thorton is the peice of a blockbuster trade and they do not want to risk anything with him?????? I have no problem moving Jenks although I would have liked to have seen him pitch in a blowout as he has not thrown in about a week and really hasn't thrown often in the last two or three weeks. Nice win and the Sox outplayed the Tigers. They really should have won all five. I'm honestly starting to think you are on to something here. I'd much rather see Jenks, Dotel or Linebrink go though. It seems like Thornton is ALWAYS money.
  7. If Pods hits into a double play, this laptop is going through the tv... Oh nevermind.... 'BOUT TIME!!!
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:16 PM) Personally, I'm in the boat of trading Jenks for a huge package, and making Thornton your closer. Also, I don't trust that gun in KC, as they had Dotel at 96 and he's been around 91 all year. I'm all for trading Jenks, but I would NOT make Thornton the closer. He's doing just fine where he is.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) Really rather not see Getz bunt here. I'm sorry... you were saying?? LOL
  10. 1) Gavin gets robbed of the win 2) Jenks is diminishing his trade value
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:11 PM) BA looks a lot better. I would love it if BA could keep is average up around .280-.300 for the season and wouldn't choke in situational hitting.
  12. Eh... Hawk just said it's raining even harder now. The tarp is still on the field. I don't think this is happening today.
  13. I was just curious... Does anybody know how Gio Gonzalez and Fautino De Los Santos are doing in the A's organization? Are they panning out?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) did you miss some of the scouts saying Beckham should turn into one of the best hitters in baseball? In 3 years, I'll be shocked if Beckham doesn't put up numbers similar or better than Pedroia. That would be cool, but I want more. It would also be cool if Flowers turned out to be a Kevin Youkilis.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:01 PM) right a fire sale now probably won't reap as much as you could get on July 31st... even a very good pen arm can get a decent bidding war going between two teams and you could pull out a higher level prospect Man I hope so. I would love to get a boat load of high level prospects that have a good chance of panning out. Where is our Longoria or Utley or Pedroia or Hanley Ramirez?
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) There is a difference between rebuilding and just being dumb and forcing guys who aren't ready to play. That would be the latter. Okay then don't bring up the prized prospects. Bring up someone else. I can't see them doing any worse. Who knows? We might be suprised. I'm just tired of seeing the same ole stuff.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Until Q is back, we don't have a choice. BA is our best option outside of saying, "f*** it", and calling up Jordan Danks. Then f*** it, call up Jordan Danks
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:31 PM) One of those guys hit a two-run homer tonight. I'm fine with BA, Nix, Fields and Brinkey staying. I think the door is rapidly closing on Chris Getz. . I'm not. How often can you count on BA hitting a homer? How often can you count on BA GETTING A HIT? I look up and down the rosters of the red sox and other teams and see everyone hitting close to .300 and it just sickens me.
