If all things being equal I think that definitely would tip the scales in the Sox favor, the only thing management needs to make sure happens is that money is right there or better than the Padres

This is exactly why I say we need to pump the breaks on this kid, we don’t have the best history of drafting talent and he hasn’t done anything past A ball yet.....you can listen to management all you want but they definitely aren’t going to say anything negative about a top 3 pick from just last year and until I see production a little higher up in the minors, I will continue to say the jury is still out on this guy

I’m in the camp of needing to see more from Madrigal before I’m ready to say he’s on the fast track to take moncadas job.

I could go for another good old arguing again amongst baseball writers to close out this free agency..... its going to end with one writer reporting a deal has been made with team a and another reporting a deal has been made with team b and we will all have to wait to find out who was right when the actual MLB team announces the signing

This would be my only concern with the padres interest now.

And at no point in time is there only going to be a whitesox and no other team connected to Machado if and when Harper signed first. So people need to take all of this with a grain of salt

Okay peavy44, back to the numbers....if the deal is anywhere close to each other the Sox win out....you gave a 5 million dollar gap now are throwing out totally random numbers when no one has even hinted those being comparable in talk from either team.

Man this thread is going bi polar.......if Harper deal is heating up it only makes sense to drum up the San Diego talks because without them Machado would only be left with the whitesox.....this is not rocket science guys
