QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) #mets, #yankees and others have asked for medicals on freddy garcia, the 2nd best free-agent pitcher left, after pavano - Jon Heyman I guess Freddy is about to get paid this offseason. didnt the mets release him awhile back before he came back to us?
-
that was horrible clock management i wanted to break my tv
-
they've been able to run the ball effectively for once this season
-
they should be dominating the scoreboard but poor tackling have kept the patriots in the game
-
anyone else see that kickoff return by the pats o lineman....omg too funny (and im a packers fan)

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 11:08 AM) Agreed, especially with Sox not having to face him anymore. It will be fun getting to watch him hit in the NL. it will be a thrill watching him pitch in the NL. I think he'll thrive on NL hitters

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) This deal makes me smile. The Yankees lose, and the Cubs road gets harder. What's not to like? and we no longer have to face greinke all those times against KC every year
-
i like the move both for the brewers and greinke....he stays out of the big city spotlight and the brewers have one hell of a rotation
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) The Yankees will go very hard after him I imagine. can you imagine the spotlight that will be on Greinke if he indeed does get traded to them....he went from no pressure in KC to the most in all of sports overnight - recipe for disaster in NY

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 08:48 PM) They signed the Japanese player for 2b or SS (I might have been losing it, but I believe they traded Hardy last week during the flurry of activity around MLB and it got buried). Not saying he is going to step in and be an all-star, but for 2b or SS they'll be using him they did i forgot about him. I think he went to Baltimore if i remember correctly....

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 08:43 PM) They're looking at a rotation right now of Sabathia, Burnett, Hughes, Nova and Mitre right now. Other than C.C., that's an extremely questionable staff. Nobody knows what Pettitte's plans are. Combine that with what the Red Sox have done and I guarantee you they'll make a huge play for ZG if he agrees to go there. i have no doubt the Yankees will probably make a push for him especially with what Boston has done this offseason so far.... I just dont know if that environment would be the best for success for Greinke...and hey im not feeling bad for the Yankees one bit this offseason...I hope the offseason snubs keep coming for them
-
Dont know if this has been posted yet but the San Diego Padres signed Orlando Hudson to a 2 year deal. On a more important note the twins just keep losing players.....crain, guerrier, hudson, the list could still grow....if i was a twins fan I def would be a little worried. Do they really think their minor league can fill those voids? I mean i never say never because they are the twins but they are definately hurting this offseason
-
with his personal issues i don't think the yankees will be too crazy over trying to get Greinke. Greinke needs to pitch somewhere where the stress level isnt that high. I believe he would get ate alive in the big apple, somewhere like Texas would be a perfect scenerio for him....they just lost Lee if they acquired him that would be a huge pick up for the Rangers.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 11:37 AM) they had time to cover another team... the Russell Martin "Sports Century" must still be in the editing stage. haha ESPN is horrible there is no reason to watch them for baseball unless you don't have MLB Network
-
hahaha have fun with him boston....they are crazy if they trade papelbon and use jenks as their closer
-
i would consider signing webb but more than likely a trade would have to be made to free up $$
-
QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) http://rss.nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/40690744...ts-player_news/ this article says he may get a chance at being the closer.....idk about that one

Kerry Wood signs 1 year, $1.5 million deal with Cubs
HeGetzUs replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (That funky motion @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) Does Wood still live in Chicago? i read somewhere that he still has a home in Chicago and lives here in the offseason -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) Salary dump trade has to be coming next. I bet its soon. hopefully it will be a benificial trade rather than just pure salary dump although merkin said this so idk Apparently Kenny Williams wasn't bluffing with the following weekend comments to MLB.com: "I’m encouraged by the excitement from our fans .. 29 minutes ago via web

i still would have liked guerrier but this works...
-
i dont want prospects unless we are trading a major piece especially if we are going "all in" this year. I'd pass on Granderson but love me some Brett Gardner
-
QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) Sportscenter broke their coverage to announce that, like it was some sort of groundbreaking move. that was their big free agent addition this offseason of course sportscenter would interrupt programming to announce it
-
i would love the sox to get Matt Guerrier....he always comes up clutch when he faces us....it would be nice to see him in the set up role or even get a chance to close with us....
-
Don't see this happening for 2 reasons... The amount of money buehrle will be paid and I doubt he'll waive his no trade clause to go anywhere but st louis

Multiple Sources: Sox actively shopping Quentin
