  1. this offseason has seemed to go by alot quicker than last years. i guess all of the acquisitions we've done this offseason has made me more excited about the whitesox than i can think of in recent years
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Not to mention, they lost on every single FA they went after of any significance. gotta love it when the yanks strike out on players they want
  3. definately glad we didnt sign him for that much plus gave up a draft pick for him WOW
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 12, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) I was thinking the same thing for VZW customers who are ready to get this iPhone. Might as well wait since you have to keep the phone for two years. It better be running optimally. i was reading somewhere that the new every 2 promotion was being removed from verizon as well let me look for the link...
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) Some guy that looks like TCQ does All State or State Farm commercials at a baseball stadium or airport...and they're bad. Like TCQ playing defense bad. HAHA i see that commercial all the time and never drew the connection....nice
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 9, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) I'd rather be lucky than good. i'd rather be both
  7. i feel for all chiefs fans out there right now.....there is no sicker feeling than getting blown out in a one and done playoff gm
  8. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jan 9, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) I would love to get him on a 1 year deal for 8-10 million, but the Sox never seemed to intersted, and the Yankees/Angels would probably be willing to give him 2 years. you have to have that kind of coin in the piggy bank and it sounds like we've already exhausted most of it if not all of it
  9. QUOTE (joeynach @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) Id say he is done. There is not much room to even add anyone to the 25man roster. The Bullpen is set, lineup is set, the bench is set, the only thing I could imagine would be still searching for a fill in candidate for Peavy who can shift to the pen when/if he returns. we already have that in Chris Sale
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) I am quite positive it's never happened, but somebody please tell me it has. i would like the see video proof as well
  11. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) The players? Or the Twins or Tigers? I just don't think that a manager has that big of an effect in baseball in a positive or negative way. The person that brings in the players and the players are the people who control whether a team wins or not. Ozzie's decision to go with Kotsay instead of THome had a much bigger effect on the team than anything he did in seasons. The GM has set the team up for success. I dont think you can say that KW has not put this team in a position to have success. Ozzie still has to write the lineup cards (playing people from his bench more often than needed comes to mind) and has to be held accounted for at some point in time.
  12. i like it but dont see how we could afford it unless it is a 1 yr deal with performance incentives
  13. cant wait to see the new Fast and Furious. By the way anyone looking to see the Little Fockers movie i just saw it the other night and thought it was pretty good
  14. i have Call of Duty Black Ops but havent played the new Medal of Honor. I've been thinking about buying it but not for sure which one is better? Opinions anyone?
  15. umm i quit smoking in late august so i can't use that as a resolution so if i had to chose one it would have to be in getting more efficient with fixing things on my vehicle and around the house do it yourselfs
  16. Shawne Merriman resigns with Buffalo on a 2 yr deal ESPN article
  17. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) F the Packers. haha all joking aside i hope the packers and bears meet in the playoffs. It'd be great for the rivalry.
  18. "Injuries can happen at any time. But for us, the guys have prepared in the offseason to go through this year. We haven't had a lot of injuries. We're just gonna keep it going in that direction." quote from Lovie Smith on ESPN Chicago all im trying to show is that the Packers have not gotten the "breaks" like that post has mentioned. That win against us wasnt dominating. It was by a field goal at the end of regulation. Anyone who watched that game knows that the Bears werent dominating in that game.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) All the Lions need is for their offensive players to stay healthy, add another impact player on defense (ideally in the secondary) and that's probably a .500 team next season if they stay healthy. the lions have had alot of close games this season they could possibly be a 9-7 or 10-6 team next season especially if they can keep stafford healthy for the whole season although hill has filled in quite nicley
  20. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 06:07 AM) Really??? The Packers faced Detroit's 3rd string QB, GB probably loses to Philly if Vick started the whole game, and now you get to face a team that has nothing to play for to make the playoffs. I'm sure there are a couple other breaks the Packers have got too.... REALLY? The packers have been one of the unluckiest teams in football this year. If any team in the NFL (definately including the bears in this one) were to lose their starting RB one of the top 2 CB on their roster at the time (Al Harris), their 2nd best reciever (donald driver missed a few games) their top TE for the season (Finley), Nick Barnett going down for the season, their defensive line has been banged up all season, not to mention aaron rodgers got a concussion in that detroit game so it was Matt Flynn against the 3rd string QB in the 2nd half of that game Anyone who suggests the Bears are the superior of the two teams are crazy, i know they cant control who they play but their strength of schedule was horrible Detroit is a far better team then they were at the beginning of the season when they should have beat the bears week one if the ref didnt blow the calvin johnson touchdown... If Vick started the whole game Im sure the packers would have went into the game with a different gameplan on defense.... 4 of the 6 losses GB has had has been by a field goal in OT or right at the end of regulation to end the game. The other 2 games have been lost by 4 pts...talk about the "breaks" the packers have got...jeez
  21. well this would be a nice christmas present there is absolutely no chance to acquire him
