  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:54 PM) So who are you focused on for the Sox 2nd round pick? Anyone in particular? Depends who's still around. I wouldn't be surprised if they go after a solid college pitching prospect after grabbing the raw toolsy youngin. Maybe a pick a la Erik Johnson.
  2. The Cards are going to turn Kaminsky into a stud. They are pretty good at that.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) Would the White Sox dare take Manaea at 55 and hope Don Cooper can sell him on the Sox? If he goes in the 2nd round, he's giving up SO much money if he could come back and prove himself healthy next year. The Sox likely can't afford Manaea. He also has Boras and the leverage to return to school.
  4. Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales 1m Anderson repped by Larry Reynolds, expects to sign soon. Expand Reply Retweet Favorite More
  5. That is a head-scratcher by the Gigantes.
  6. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisBA 27s #Rangers get good value hear w/RHP Alex Gonzalez, nasty life to his stuff. Thought he might go 7-10 picks higher. #mlbdraft

  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) By the way, why did the Royals pick Dozier 30-some picks earlier than he was projected? Very strange. Because he will be cheap and allow them to reallocate cap money to skilled players who might be tougher signs later on. Manaea perhaps.
  9. Ciuffo to Tampa has to be a foregone conclusion right? I think I've seen him associated with Tampa almost all season.
  10. I wonder if there is something medically keeping people away from Stanek. This is a legit free-fall.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) Wow, totally thought he and J.P. Crawford were both high school kids. I can't believe Anderson is already 22 years old. He better not take a long time. He's rather raw. Don't expect a fast impact. Edit: and that age seems very wrong.
  12. Stanek is going to fall in Detroit's lap imo.
  13. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:01 PM) Dang didn't realize Craig Biggios son was in this draft. That guy has to be a good one right? Haha. What position is he projected at?....Seen 3rd, SS, & 2nd. Projects mostly at 2B. Could be a tough sign too.
  14. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) Beck has mid rotation potential but he needs to up his Ks. I think Miles Jaye is the SP sleeper of the system. Yep. I'm the one always harping on Beck not striking anyone out. I also like Myles Jaye.
  15. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisBA 29s Wrong Anderson guess. #WhiteSox get Tim, athletic JC product, could be SS or CF. Figured he'd go soon after Crawford and he did. #mlbdraft Expand
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) Remember that Laumann said he didn't think the starting pitchers in this draft were anything better than Johnson or Beck. Two very different pitchers so far. I'm pretty disappointed in Beck this season.
  17. Not my favorite player on the board, but I'm just a hobbyist. The speed is tantalizing though. Also will be nice to have a position prospect that likely won't have massive strikeout issues.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) He's got big upside and would be an impact position player that would stick at SS. I've read that he might have to move to 2B. Or you could throw him in CF to see what happens. Haven't researched him as much as others though.
  19. Not sold on Tim Anderson personally.
  20. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:43 PM) What about this Denney fellow? is he gone already? Nope. He was also a really highly touted guy to start the year. Had a down season. More of a late 1st rounder. Or might even go to school.
  21. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisBA 30s I'll look ahead to #WhiteSox at 17. Think they go Chris Anderson over Tim Anderson. #mlbdraft Expand
  22. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:39 PM) I don't agree with that. His basement is relief. His stuff can fit in the rotation with no problem. I've also never heard him projected as a reliever. More of a solid middle of the rotation type. One of Law's sources even noted that next to Gray, he might have the highest ceiling in the draft. It's quoted in our draft thread.
  23. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:38 PM) High ceiling, but so damn inconsistent. Edwin Jackson #2 The inconsistency is the knock. But the stuff can be great. He's shown great flashes. Was projected as a top 5 pick to begin the year.
  24. Still pretty damn good value here. Stanek has a pretty high ceiling to be honest. Crawford wouldn't be bad either. Also still like Alex Gonzalez.
