Things I've seen consistently in reviews: Affleck and Irons are good, Gal Gadot ain't bad, Cavill is just there, Luthor is a 1960s Batman villain, the plot structure is a jumbled mess, Doomsday is god awful and the movie is trying too hard to make every scene iconic. IGN dubbed it "competent". I was expecting BvS to at least be getting a 50% on RT - which is the bench mark I'm wanting before I see it. It'll be interesting if this is the film that causes the superhero bubble to burst.

Daredevil Season 2 is the best superhero live action production by far, film or TV. It somehow blew its first season and Jessica Jones out of the water.

Fulmer "putting himself on the radar"
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 09:55 AM) Not sure what you base that on. Jones, Floyd and Danks all had arm/shoulder surgery in recent years. It seems almost every team is losing a pitcher a year to the same type surgeries. Then go look at other orgs. Sox have the top training staff in the league.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 21, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) This is just irresponsible of the government. Same thing is going on in Kansas with its moronic republican governor. It's amazing how the government is letting us down and at the top we're going for the same ol same ol with Hillary set to win in a landslide.

Most hated player in White Sox history
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Ken Williams Yeah, sorry. Just like I can't ever hate Ozzie, I can't ever hate Kenny. Without them, no 2005.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) KW asked Adam several times to keep Drake off the field during drills as the org would be liable for any injury that occurred to his boy. Adam flat out refused time and again to a belligerent degree. That is what set off Kenny and he wasn't the only one that was concerned. Ironically Kenny was more concerned about Drake's safety than Mr. #FamilyFirst. That's what some need to know about LaRoche's behavior. Coming from Bucket, I'm going to now side with Kenny.

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker: Court orders $115M in damages

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker: Court orders $115M in damages
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Daulerio did them in by acting like a f***ing child at his deposition. Not sure what he was trying to accomplish other than entertaining himself but condoning the publishing of child porn while under oath lost them the case on the spot. Yeah, not sure why he and Denton thought antagonizing the courtroom was a good idea.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) I have a feeling he would thank his fans during his career while not plugging his meat company in his farewell letter. Well, that and because he never once mentioned his son battling an illness during his first year with the Sox and that would have been an understandable excuse in my book. He went out, tried to do his job while getting left out to dry by Ozzie, got booed and came back the next year with an All-Star season.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:31 PM) The question to me is whether KW and JR talked before this happened and who KW discussed things with. If he gets canned, it should be because he didn't run it by the right parties. If he doesn't get canned, it should be because he ran it by all the right parties and everyone was on board but they internally decided Kenny should be the one who ultimately took the heat and was the "bad" guy. No idea what actually happened. +1

QUOTE (heirdog @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) Borrowing from Occam's Razor where the simplest explanation is likely the most plausible, here is what probably happened: Rick Hahn, the smartest man in the room, decided he would kill 2 birds with one stone. He set up Kenny to fall on the sword by playing on his emotions about players thinking he is weak. He also wanted LaRoche out of here and knew the only thing to send him packing would be the son angle. So Rick decided to go to Kenny and float "no player will say it but they don't like having Drake around" and "they wish you, Kenny, would step in but he don't think you have the guts to". Knowing Kenny would create a maelstrom and personalize the issue to himself...which now he can't revert back from, Rick will soon have full GM power and $13 million to spend on a championship roster.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) This just in. Yoenis Cespedes now wants to sign with the White Sox and join the circus-like atmosphere, feels it's the closest thing to the sheer craziness of NYC and White Sox apparently willing to pay him $30 million and let him wear his cap backwards. Cites the DeAndre Jordan precedent. Threads merged for the biggest in SoxTalk history.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) Or it could have been a Gentleman's agreement done by a handshake. I know people would be surprised by that possibility, but some folks still think that's a way to do business. If having the youngster in the clubhouse was allowed by Rick Hahn and Robin Ventura then it is none of Kenny Williams business and he should NEVER have interfered. I have to wonder about the comments mad by KW on what he was trying to do. He said this was a case of trying to change things and get people to focus on the task at hand, etc, etc, and what makes this year different then the other dozen plus since KW has been in the management role? I understand, but handshake agreements change. See: Buehrle - Marlins. Players complained. It's their business, their clubhouse. And Kenny only asked him to scale it back, not banish the kid to the fifth circle of hell.

Adam LaRoche retires
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) Not to be hyper critical of your opinion, but when something like this is posted the question needs to be asked... Can you speak for what Adam Laroche would do or say in that situation? I cannot, but it has crossed my mind. I do know that LaRoche is friends with a despicable hate-mongering homophobe and that the White Sox let them have the entire f***ing stadium. They were accommodating. What if a non-Christian player felt offended by that? Or the Jewish owner? Faith and family first and the Sox let him have both. Now he's throwing a tantrum because they asked for a little less out of respect for the players. If Adam wants to hide behind "faith and family first" to act like some paragon of morality in a battle of good vs. evil, make himself out to be a martyr and throw a tantrum all so he can disrespect the wishes of a few players and make himself and his son special snowflakes, then he's quite frankly an awful teammate and person.
