  1. A.J.: "Dammit, I was tryin' to hit that back to the pitcher. Another test comin' Monday. Oh well!"
  2. Hawk is trying really hard to be nice during this game.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) Awful base running by Wise so far tonight. That was a stupid decision to send him, especially since it appears he got a terrible jump. I guess it's shows a lack of confidence in the Sox big bats. Two sit appearances at the plate.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 07:32 AM) Play like you're angry about something AJ. He might squash those rumors by playing crappy baseball.
  5. When I was checking out the motownsports forum. I got a good laugh at these comments. Stupid off days. White Sox get Mendoza, Chen and Guthrie Reply The Tigers went 0-3 trying to run through that gauntlet.
  6. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Kept talk radio hot on an off-day didn't it? It's all Bears I would imagine. Last night I google any info about the AJ rumor, it was empty. I didn't see anyone at motownsports get wind of it.
  7. Hopefully I can watch an AFL game or two. I wish they had more 6:35 pm games. I'll have to check out the Rafters in Peoria or Surprise.
  8. Any game with the greats before 1970, someone like Mantle or Ruth. Probably some of those pitchers who threw hard before there was a radar gun.
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) Wow. That is awful. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...41&c_id=mlb You can see how bad it was.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 07:49 AM) Hmm.. I wonder whose Twitter this is? I'm still trying to figure out the concept of Twitter. People make a single comment and we interpret that magnitude out of it.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 09:22 AM) I'd make fun of shameless plugging, but instead, check out this badass NFL Week 1 Power Rankings article! Another bad year in the NFL. I wonder if it could ever begin to equal the excitement of the AL pennant race.
  12. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) I knew what you were doing, but there are a lot of people that do think that way. I see that more with NFL fans.
  13. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) I wish I had the ability to go to a lot of games. But, living 180 miles away and being broke as a joke I only get to a game every year or two. I don't think my fandom should be questioned because of the fact that I just can't get to games. I live about 2500 miles away. I'm broke as oke (I can't even afford the j), and I may get to one ST game every year when someone else pays for it.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) So what was the market for Matt Thornton this off season? It wasn't good last year either. People thought they could trade him for Rasmus but the Cards wanted Sale.
  15. QUOTE (YASNY @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) Then that is on the, and I use the word lightly, journalists. Not on us. Journalists are lazy. More so the blog writers on national media. That's why I don't believe anything until the local media reports it.
  16. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) I question the motive of the person on WSI who originally posted this. If, as he claimed, he got the rumor from "a friend who works at WSCR" and the station didn't deem it worthy to report it, then it wasn't meant to be revealed to the public. Why would someone who claims to be a Sox fan rush to report an unsubstantiated rumor that would cast a negative light on the team, cause a big distraction and personally hurt one of the team's best players during a pennant race? And WSI didn't even ban the guy for even a week for doing it. It really makes them look bad, especially since they are known for banning and censoring posters for holding the "wrong view" or not being PC in the way they express their views. WSI's credibility took a big hit by being the source of this bulls*** rumor. It wasn't a veteran poster either.

WSI's credibility took a big hit by being the source of this bulls*** rumor. Not only that but some of the WSI staff writers have good relationship with some media members and people inside the Sox organization. The thread got twisted that one of the Sox beat writers reported the rumor which in reality was the writer heard the rumor a week ago. That's when they took it down.
  18. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) Get rid of this thread, if it's untrue. +1
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 06:17 AM) Does this mean the press conference in which the White Sox forgot to invite the press is cancelled? A lot of people around the country are going to be pissed. A few on this board as well. Press conference is probably a rumor too. I don't see anything online about one.
  20. BTW, the link is no longer accessible to the public at WSI.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 10:31 PM) They are harming those players who aren't using? If your success is solely related to drugs, then you are taking the spot of another player who could be up at the majors making that paycheck (without cheating). If I was a clean player, I'd be livid. And from everything I've heard and can tell, the majority of players are clean. It's also cheating to gain more income. Costs are always passed on to the fans.
  22. Hats off to those Sox fans who follow what going on in the minors. To me that's a fan who is "all in". How do you get your knowledge of what's going on? Do you listen to games? Only look at the box scores? Do any of you live where they play? Only if they had an idiot's guide to following your team's farm system.
  23. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Here is a good counter argument : http://majorleagueaholes.com/2012/08/29/why-aj-is-clean/ His doubles are way down. Also don't forget his 2011 ended early because of injury. But that gave him more time to get ready for 2012. Sounds like something a fan would write. It's not impossible for AJ to put up those numbers. A lot has to do with how other guys are hitting in the order. For all we know AJ might be suspended for something going on between him and an umpire or some unsportsmanlike infraction.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) If we knew every member of the 05 Sox that was on something, we'd probably cry. Well maybe not cry, but you know what I mean. It's still rampant. They aren't as potent as they used to be with 55-70 homers, but guys still want to risk it. For me, I still want the Sox to win, but this would take away some enjoyment. So many WS winners are teams with many players having careers years.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) And Aaron Rowand. (Although he was never caught) If that's the case he didn't do enough of them.
