  1. On April 14th, this is the only answer. There won’t be any trades for anyone this early in the season, nor should there be. There are many a World Series champion which were slow to get out of the gate. We have the pieces. TA will be back soon. Yermin is at least filling the offensive void left by Eloy for now. Just be patient and watch our very talented roster catch fire, and we’ll all be off to the races to what will be a very exciting season. But LaRussa needs to start playing Vaughn more regularly and soon.
  2. We are going to be one helluva force to be reckoned with once everything comes together and clicks, which it will.
  3. Of course I do. But this trio of newbies with their explosive stuff is really going to take our bullpen experience to another level.
  4. This bullpen with Heuer, Kopech, and Crochet is going to really be something to behold this summer.
  5. I remember being very fond of Jim Fregosi as a manager after six annoying years of watching early LaRussa, who was too stubborn in my view and whose strategic decisions often left you scratching your head. Literally immediately after arriving I found Fregosi’s style of managing and decision making to be a refreshing change from that of LaRussa. Unfortunately for Fregosi he was Hawk’s choice, and his style didn’t mesh with Hawk’s successor, Larry Himes. Almost like oil and water, those two. Fregosi’s days were numbered not too long into Himes’ tenure as GM.
  6. So sorry to hear you didn’t like or appreciate the great Harry Caray, he of the wildly popular Caray’s among not one, not two, but three fan bases AND Hall of Fame Caray’s. Easily one of the best broadcasters of all time.
  7. Excellent job by Carlos to grind it out and get out of the inning with no damage.
  8. I will be interested in hearing his logic for not challenging there.
  9. Good teams get out of jams like that. Rebuild teams don’t. I’m enjoying the difference.
  10. 100% agree. Even if it doesn’t work out, I’m confident this was the smart move by LaRussa. I’ll take my chances on this logic every single time.
  11. Love Stone. Great analysis of Gio’s slider overall despite an overall terrific performance thus far by Gio.
  12. Benetti needs to learn and turn off “The Jason & Steve Variety Show” when the Sox have two runners on base. He was more interested in talking about the Nationwide singing thing he does with Stone than the fact the Sox had a potential rally mounting.
  13. Your second guessing was correct. I think Stone was just in the process of saying you don’t want to make the third out at third, and you don’t. It worked out ok this time, but in general, you don’t try the steal in that situation.
  14. The sound of a rocket off the bat of Luis is exhilarating!
  15. A really fun and positive development in the next year is if these young pitchers all take the step to the next level, similar to Giolito from a couple of years ago, and force some really tough decisions for LaRussa and the FO. What an embarrassment of riches it would be if all of these prized or once-prized top prospects, from Cease to Rodon to Lopez to Kopech to Crochet, started pitching at or near their ceilings. In a glass half full point of view, the potential for this staff with the kind of talent it possesses is an Atlanta Braves circa the 1990s type of run from a pitching perspective. It’s certainly exciting to think of the possibilities!
  16. Nice to see both of the team’s top two international signings crack the top ten list.
