"Mayday, Mayday" 5/1 Gamethread
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) That's a pretty good idea unless ... a.) You simply love baseball and are at your best when in a major league ballpark. b.) Love the ballpark food and I assume it is still great at the Cell. c.) Have a designated driver so you can drink 10 beers which I assume are about 10 bucks a beer now so you can drop an even 100 bills on brew. If you love baseball you might as well go to the games, just do not expect a victory on the way to the yard and while in the yard. The only outstanding food is in the 200 or whatever level, that the rope off from the normal fans. GG Sox.

The Chicago White Sox: They don't need to play a full season of baseball to win the world series! Just start them off at 10-19 every May 1st, and they're good to go!

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) I could see him reworking his contract to go to the Cards with the Sox making it easy for deal to take place. lol, money is overrated right!?

Danks will be traded with Teahen, put that on the board. There's your way out of that contract

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) This "sell off" is greatly exaggerated. It's going to be a lot harder to dump contracts than people think. What contracts can be really unload? Buehrle and Jackson are definitely the first two to go, IMO. Buehrle? Really? Research that option he has if we trade him, then reassess your opinion about Buehrle being traded.

Floyd Mayweather officially removed from Ring Magazine's pound for pound listing today. He needed to have a fight planned prior to today in order to maintain his ranking. Dude just doesn't have boxing in his heart anymore, too busy gambling and doing his little promotion thing. Makes me sad as a Mayweather fan that I might not see him fight more than maybe once before he officially retires And before anyone says he's afraid of Pacquiao, he's been doing this Fight/Vacation for a year thing since he beat De La Hoya 4 years ago.

Those last two pitches to paulie were strikes

Sox Game on WGN Saturday 4/30
Starting to think this teams routine slow starts are due to league adjustments made over the offseason whereas our club doesn't do their due diligence with regards to adjusting to their opponents, which would be coaching/advanced scouting

Humber has zero command of his fastball or curveball

I just want Humber to do well, couldn't care less how the rest of the team does. Humber becoming what the Mets thought he was would be awesome given mark and Edwin will be gone in 2012

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) The pitching is not the issue. This team literally can not score runs. uh, we just lost 10-4, and 12-3 yesterday.

QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) It's about time for the Greg Walker vote of confidence article... Same s*** every season. Horrible April, okay May, Sluggin' June/July, Meh August, Absolute-Dogs***-Choke-Job-September... Don't know if anyone has seen the Sept. schedule, but there are 26 games IN A ROW vs. the AL central. I fully expect a 6-20 run for those games AT BEST If Walker gets canned, Cooper needs to get the f*** out too. Pitching has been HORRIBLE.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) Fastball was just clocked at 89mph. Strikes out the last batter - going 5.2ip and now being taken out as a result of reaching his pitch count limit ( they didn't say what that number was ) It'll be interesting to read the following reports on how he felt, where his velocity was at, what the pitch limit was, and how his body responds over the weekend. 85

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) thornton with a 1,2,3 inning. wow. no pressure when you're down 10-4. pretty simple now that i've seen it routinely. this team chokes under pressure. the whole all-in thing was bad from the start. it set these mental midgets up from the start to play like s***, they cannot play under pressure
