  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 02:31 PM) There is always someone who has to post negative stuff trying to get a huge reaction. Wouldn't be a problem if this board wasn't full of people who know nothing about baseball.
  2. Jimmy is in line for his second straight Player of the Month award. He's actually having a better month in December than last month when he won the award, the only guys standing in his way are Lebron and Big Mouth Kyle Lowry.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 01:08 AM) Thibs was going to put him back in, but didn't want to stop what was working. I have no problem with that. Him and Noah can use more bench time if Gibson and Niko are healthy and playing well. We need those 2 guys to stay healthy for playoffs, and Noah hasn't looked all that great with his knee issues this year.
  4. Also forgot to point out Gasol got the Boozer treatment in the 4th quarter tonight, don't think he was hurt.
  5. Bulls suddenly forgot all the fundamentals this last minute.
  6. He can neither score or defend these days, outside of a few occasional big shots this year, I don't know what he's good for.
  7. Toronto is making everything. Defense needs to tighten up.
  8. Before the very last play of Game 4, the announcer brings up who the Sox collective fanbase is and what a World Series win means to them.
  9. The difference between Jimmy this year and years past is we are running more offensive plays for him, in variety of pick and rolls, post ups, and isolations on the wing. His mid range jump shot is also much improved, and whenever he decides to put the ball on the floor, he's stronger than most of the 2 guards guarding him, and that leads to him drawing fouls in bunches.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 02:42 PM) Yeah, the D is good and Clausen is not turning it over. But it's still the same old offense, unable to drive and score unless the LOLions help them out. It's more hating on Trestman not Clausen. And my post was a knock against Cutler more so than praising Clausen. I think he did a passable job today, and it it speaks volume to how awful Cutler has been if even a backup can come in on a short week and play at least competently against one of the top D's.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) LOL at the Clausen love. If it wasn't for a muffed punt and a roughing the punter penalty, the Bears would be getting shut out. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) Yeah, you're completely right. How many points do the Bears have again? No one is saying Clausen is a long term starter, but he's at least competent QB. He's capable of making quick passes under pass rushes, making accurate throws, and not making dumb turnovers like Cutler. All of that came in a short week of practice. Give the man some credit. EDIT: Oh yea, and I heard this Lion's D is pretty good.
  12. First McCown now Clausen. Maybe Cutler is the only problem on offense. Regardless his trade value is going down by the minute.
  13. Which if you compare our payroll of $90 mil last year, we do now have an increased payroll. Who knows how much of a leash JR has given Hahn. We could already be past our limits with Melky and moving DV would be a move to scale it back to JR's range. I'll trust our resident insider sources who have come through more times than not when they say we are done with major signings. That plus there are absolutely no rumors of Kang to the Sox put our chances at slim to none.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) He's looking for $5M to $6M a year per his agent. If that's the case, we could free a big chunk of that by moving Viciedo. And we definitely don't have to move contracts for Melky. Reinsdorf gave the ok to increase payroll before signing him. We tried to and still are trying to move Viciedo to fit Melky under our payroll. One way or the other, Viciedo's contract won't be on our books come opening day. Now if we want to sign more free agents, we'd need to move John Danks, and good luck finding any takers for him.
  15. There are no rumors of him to the Sox. I can't wait to see the board go sour on him when it's revealed to be the Cubs. EDIT: After Melky signing, Rock hinted that we done with signings and need to move contracts to just fit Melky in the cap. This guy could cost anywhere from $15-50 mil, so don't get your hopes to high
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 10:23 AM) He keeps saying he does and we can match anything (just a matter of Jerry and Co. being okay to pay the luxury tax). By the way, he is a really personable dude. Haven't heard him interviewed much but this guy looks like he could turn into a face of the franchise guy who you can market as well. If you follow him on Facebook he's an all around great dude. Loves to goof around and great with kids.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) He was batting 8th in the NL ahead of the pitcher. I need to watch more National League games...
  18. How does a guy like Hanigan, career .250 hitter with 25 HR's, have 38 IBB's in 550 games? I think that's one of the most astounding findings I came across in a while.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 12:07 PM) Hannigan is better than Brantly. He's still a backup. I am using an analogy here. Trade made sense for both teams, Red Sox overpaid to fill a need, Padres got great value from the deal.
  20. That's a robbery for Padres. Could we have traded Brantly for Middlebrooks?
  21. Steven Souza is a good athlet, but spent 5 years in A ball because he was never able to hit. Then something clicked at age 23 and started to rake. Just maybe Trayce Thompson isn't completely dead yet.
  22. I think the team's biggest problem is defending the pick and roll. I think all of Calderon's points came off of pick and rolls. Rose, Hinrich and Brooks are all terrible against that play
