  1. Rose a TBT picture of him and Jabari on Facebook. Pretty amazing how time flew by. https://www.facebook.com/derrickrose/photos...e=1&theater
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 01:12 AM) I hate to toot my own horn and I know it's still very early in the season but I'm on record here as saying I don't believe the Cavs will be a contender this year, heck I'll be shocked if they make it to the ECFs. Just because they added LeBron and KLove, in my opinion, didn't make them the East's favorite. I still believe KLove is overrated (go ahead and sue me) and so is Irving. They'll improve later on this season but they can't touch the Bulls, IMO (health considering, I'm looking at you Rose). LeBron to Miami was a whole different situation, there he joined a top 5 elite former FMVP and a proven PF, all being overseen by one of the NBA's greatest minds, the godfather Pat Riley. OTOH, Cleveland has an unproven NBA coach and Cleveland is still Cleveland. The Cavs are not contenders THIS year. BTW, let me be the first to give props to the FO, I know it's the cool thing to rag on them but they've quickly built a deep team that has legit shooters, defense, post offense, rim protection, rebounding and top tier talent. Health is really the only issue with this team but that's something they really can't control. I especially want to give props acter the whole Carmelo episode, I was one of the few Bulls fans who didn't believe Melo was serious about coming here and frankly, I didn't want him, I hate his ISO game to be honest. Let him stay a loser in NY but keep getting them checks, to quote the wise Jalen Rose... You should look into trading stocks, you'd be a great stock trader. You are clearly overreacting here, the same way Sports Center blows up story lines when Lebron's team struggles the past 7 years. I wouldn't be worried about the Cavs even if they play .500 ball for the rest of 2014. Now, if they are still struggling next February, then all this panic may justify. OTOH, the Bulls hasn't really look all that great so far. They are losing their edge on rebounding, their defense is far from stellar, and they looked uninspired after the first 2 games. Not to mention they are in the mid of the easiest of schedule in the HISTORY OF NBA for their first 8 games. We also have a long way to go before calling ourselves true contenders. And realistically, I still say Cavs have a much better chance at making and winning the ECF, given Rose and Noah's health. People keep using "if Rose stays healthy" as a condition for Bulls success, but don't really factor in the likelihood of that actually happening.
  3. Rose playing in first gear, the team D is soft as a muffin. We are getting owned by the Bucks of all teams
  4. After the horrible mega deals like A Rod and Fielder, CarGo might have one of worst values in baseball. He can GTFO
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 07:35 AM) meh, they will just find another one it seems. They just look for a little pure scorer that shot his way off his previous team and give him a little bit of money. Small investment, big return, repeat. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 09:01 AM) Part is this, the other part is it's just not hard to find undersized scoring guards. They are everywhere, they are cheap, they just can't play starter minutes because of defense. Thibs is just better than most at covering this up. For the sake of continuity and the opportunity to learn the system better both offensively and especially defensively, I'd prefer if we have these guards stay for multiple years, if they are willing to sign. Then again, both Nate and DJ got salary doubled after playing here for 1 year, so it won't be easy to get them to commit to multi year deals.
  6. The only things from between Cavs and an 0-3 start are Rose's sprained ankles. f***ing f***ity f***
  7. We should start signing these mini guards to multi year deals, and they all need to give half of their future pay checks to Thibs. It's a shame Brooks will be out of our price range again next year.
  8. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 11:18 PM) Frank Gore is absolutely killing my team. I'm finally going to sit him next week in favor of either Charlie Sims, Tre Mason, or if I can pull off a trade, Arian Foster. With all the Tony Romo injuries, I'm trying to dump both Romo and Dez Bryant or Terrance Williams on someone because god forbid Brandon Weeden gets more playing time, all those players will be useless. I wouldn't play Mason for the next 2 weeks. And their whole offense is garbage, he will have a hard time scoring TD's this year.
  9. Bulls hosting a block party tonight, even the white boys Dunleavy and Mcbuckets got in on the action.
  10. I think folks are overreacting here. It's just one game. We knew they would take a while to get used to playing with each other and playing for a new coach. It will happen sooner or later. I fully expect that team to come together before the playoffs, as with any Lebron led teams in the past. BTW this game says just as much about this Knicks team as the Cavs or the Bulls.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 28, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) Pau Gasol started a contest to send him pics of places for him to go to learn Chicago to win 2 tix to friday. And the jerk did not select mine. START TAJ! You might have had better luck if you send him to party in J4L's pants when Lebron plays
  12. In PPR format, Olsen has been better than Gronk up till this week. I guess I have underestimated the suckage of the Bears D. Never again.
  13. Crazy week this week fantasy wise. If only I started Gronk and Sanders as well.
  14. Is it usual for NFL teams to fire personnels mid season? If so, tomorrow should be fun.
  15. If Maddon is the new manager, we can also bring back Adam Dunn and bat him lead off.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) First on the bolded... no. He was just drafted in 2014, this was his age 23 season. You don't write off a guy with the tools he apparently has at age 24, whether he's in A, A+ or AA. That would be ridiculous. Yes he's old for level, but that just means you challenge him level-wise a little more next year, maybe split time A and A+. Then the next year at 25 can be AA & AAA, for example, which is fine. If he struggles in A ball at 24 and has to repeat the same levels at 25, how much chance do you give him to make it to the big league. If he performs reasonably, fine. But if he struggles with an 4.50+ ERA, his chances are basically slim to none. That's basically what I mean. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Second on Great Falls, remember that the team generally sends the older, college-grad guys up there (though not always), and also that it is a hitter-friendly league. So hitters can put up some big numbers, but that doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot. You'll know a lot more about those guys when they hit A ball. That's what I am saying. Usually folks doesn't follow that team compared to Bristol, or this year's AZL Sox, because guys are generally older. But in years past, we have exciting guys who performed well in their first Great Fall go around and created a buzz, guys like Kevan Smith and Michael Blanke. But we didn't have that guy this year. The Fishers did alright, but I believe they are repeating that level.
  17. I am not worry about giving 3 prospects for Heyward. Sox are not desperate for a guy like Heyward for 1 year, so if they trade for him, they best know they can sign him for the extension and they are willing to pay the dollars. The prospects we are giving away are just secondary.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 04:19 PM) ok, but talk about over paying ...... jeeze for 1 yr. We are talking about 3 guys, 2 of which may never make any contributions in the ML. If Heyward is indeed traded, the offer might actually be better than that.
  19. I think the whole Great Fall team was overlooked this year. Outside of Peter's debut and the few starts by Luis Martinez, I don't think anyone paid much attention to GF. Trexler is already 24 years old, so next year is make or break for him. Hopefully he pitches well and ends up in BHam by year end.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) May not make a bad #2 hitter, but definitely not giving up a Top 10 prospect for him. Let's see, would I trade Carlos Sanchez for Heyward? You got it. What about Matt Davidson? Sign me up! You want Courtney Hawkins too? Ok, no problem. You want all 3 for Heyward? Done deal!
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 11:05 AM) Sun-Times Sports ‏@suntimes_sports 17h17 hours ago #NBA general managers say #Bulls are best defensive team, Joakim Noah the best defender: http://sun-tim.es/1yYqpkG Paul George injury might have something to do with one of the categories.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) Listed weight is 285 on the Mets website. That's probably many dozen kegs and couple thousand cheeseburgers ago. He was definitely north of 300 last I saw him pitch. Interestly enough, MiLB and BR both list Montas as 6'2, 185. Borderline Chris Sale territory.
