Sometimes the trades that are perceived as being the best end up actually not being all that great and the ones that are just ok or not so great end up being the best. Most thought the Kimbrel trade last year was going to create this awesome super bullpen but it ended up that Tepera was the better trade.

I would’ve left Diekman out there for one more inning.

Another thing to note is JR isn’t the only owner. There is a team of board members that own their stake in the franchise so if JR doesn’t have 100 percent ownership of the team and say if most of the owners are against spending for premium talent than JR can’t just override them and it’s fixed. There’s a lot of deadweight so hopefully the franchise is eventually sold to just one sole owner and not a partnership or a team of owners.

New ownership needs to happen and will happen eventually and than we’ll see drastic changes.

I don’t want to hear any excuses that the organization doesn’t have enough money to acquire any significant bats. JR has enough money and the power to spend it to improve this team. He just doesn’t want to.
