    Bill O'Reilly

Bad things happen to bad people.
  2. Things You Have to Believe to Be A Republican Today Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. A president lying about an extramarital affair is a impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness, and you need our prayers for your recovery. You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant. Feel free to pass this on. If you don't send it to at least 10 other people, we're likely to be stuck with Bush for 4 more years. Friends don't let friends vote Republican

    Ha!

Leno asked Edwards if he could beat the president in a foot race. Edwards, who said he jogged about five miles Tuesday, reminded the audience he played football as a student. Bush, he noted, was on a cheering squad. Bush "was on the side, with his pompoms," the North Carolina senator said. "I don't know, can you run fast with those cheerleading outfits on?"

    Fox News

I wonder if Bill O'Reilly will go after this guy as hard as he went after Rather. Fox News Channel admits reporter posted fake story about Kerry WASHINGTON (AFP) - An official at Fox News Channel said that one of its political reporters has been disciplined for posting a fake news item on its website about Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites). Paul Schur, a spokesman for the network, said Fox's chief political correspondent Carl Cameron had been disciplined for posting an item on FoxNews.com that included several made-up quotes attributed to Kerry. "Carl has been reprimanded," Schur said Sunday, defining further comment. The article alleged to cover a post-debate rally by Kerry at which the Massachusetts senator was purported to gush over his "metrosexual" appearance. "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" the article by the Cameron read, purportedly quoting Kerry after the event. "Women should like me! I do manicures," the story also quotes Kerry as telling the crowd. The article also has the Democratic candidate contrasting himself to US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) "I'm metrosexual -- he's a cowboy," Cameron quoted Kerry as saying. Officials for Fox, which has been criticized for being biased towards Bush's Republican party, decline to explain how the spoof article ended up on the network's website. A statement by Fox on the website Sunday apologized for the article, saying it was a joke. "Foxnews.com erred ... on Friday, posting an item purporting to contain quotes attributable to Kerry," the statement read. "The item was based on a reporters partial script that had been written in jest and should not have been posted or broadcast. Foxnews.com also regrets that error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice." US media quoted a statement by the Kerry campaign's spokesman, Phil Singer, saying Fox was right to own up to the gaffe. "Fox is doing the right thing by admitting its mistake and correcting the record," Singer told the New York Times in an article published Sunday. "George Bush (news - web sites) would be well-served to heed the lesson and admit to his own mistakes," Singer said.
  5. I'd really like to see Clement as a replacement for Garland if that's at all possible. Clement could be a nice #4, Contreras would then be #5 and we would need a solid #3

    I LOVE IT

Tiny Crawford Newspaper Endorses Kerry 1 hour, 21 minutes ago CRAWFORD, Texas - A tiny weekly newspaper that bills itself as President Bush (news - web sites)'s hometown paper has endorsed John Kerry (news - web sites) for president, saying the Massachusetts senator will restore American dignity. The Lone Star Iconoclast, which has a weekly circulation of 425, said in an editorial dated Sept. 29 that Texans should rate the candidates not by hometown or political party, but by where they intend to take the country. "Four items trouble us the most about the Bush administration: his initiatives to disable the Social Security (news - web sites) system, the deteriorating state of the American economy, a dangerous shift away from the basic freedoms established by our founding fathers, and his continuous mistakes regarding Iraq (news - web sites)," the editorial said. The Iconoclast, established in 2000, said it editorialized in support of the invasion of Iraq and publisher W. Leon Smith promoted Bush and the invasion in a BBC interview, believing Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) possessed weapons of mass destruction. "Instead we were duped into following yet another privileged agenda," the editorial said. The newspaper praised Kerry for "30 years of experience looking out for the American people" and lauded his background as "a highly decorated Vietnam veteran." ___
  8. everyone here has been debating whether you trade Lee or Konerko? For curiousity sake, I ask.. why not trade both? That would leave some serious $ available for the FA market and the Sox could reload the minors with the talent they've traded away over the past 2 years.

do you think GWB regrets adding Powell as SOS 4 years ago. It seems like he loves to stick it to the administration. Powell: Situation in Iraq 'Getting Worse' 2 hours, 32 minutes ago Add White House - AP Cabinet & State to My Yahoo! By LAURA MECKLER, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) sees the situation in Iraq (news - web sites) "getting worse" as planned elections approach, and the top U.S. military commander for Iraq says he expects more violence ahead. Their comments Sunday followed a week in which President Bush (news - web sites) and Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi spoke optimistically about the situation despite the beheadings of two more Americans and the deaths of dozens of people in car bombings.

  11. no, don't think that I hate the guy.. it justs drops him a few levels in my book. And that's why it's not smart to mix politics and business. The fact that I even considered not giving him my business anymoe should be reason enough not to put his beliefs out there.
  12. its funny that you post this question. I was just talking about this earlier today. The point is why you dont mix business and politics. A neighboor of mine, whom I greatly respect, helped me pick out an engagement ring a few months ago. He's a sales manager for a large jewelry store. We are planning on getting the wedding rings from him too. Well I come home yesterday afternoon and see Bush signs on his car, his wife's car and in his kids window. Wasn't there the day before. Now I feel like I don't respect him as much as I did before. I don't know why or if this is fair. Part of me feels like I should take my business elsewhere. I'm also in sales and learned a long time ago not to discuss politics or religion with a client. It's a divisive issue. I'd hate to lose a customer because I told him I was a Dem or something. In any case, my Kerry poster is going up in the window today.

great point.. but keep in mind the word caught. caught means that someone was out looking for you. not ignoring the crime for 20+ years and then deciding that it was worth prosecuting.

speaking of the Bay of Pigs.. this is what makes Bush so dangerous. Imagine if he was president during the Cuban Missle Crisis rather than Kennedy. I just don't trust him to do the sensible thing.

so does this mean we should go arrest everyone who has a previous DUI.. because they did it once and might do it again? my theory is you either go after when they did it (back in the 80's) or you go after them when they do it again (if ever) Should a cop be able to give me a speeding ticket because back in July I was going 15 over the limit? Of course not, you either give me the ticket then or when I do it again.

    Off the topic

a bit off the topic but there are 2 things that are driving me crazy here in the past few days and I feel the need to vent. 1) People who say that it's ok that Iraq didn't have any WMD's because we were right to invade Iraq anyway and that the world is a safer place without Sadaam? My theory: While Sadaam was no doubt a bad person (as is Castro and numerous other leaders), our containment policies of the 1990's worked just fine and cost 0 American Lives. PLUS this logic in itself is flawed. We were told that Iraq was a danger to the US and thus had to respond by invading the country. We find out that Iraq wasn't a danger and thus shouldn't have invaded. 2) People in states like Idaho who say that they are afraid that the terrorists are coming to get them. My theory: WAKE UP PEOPLE. You live in Idaho. Idaho is the least likely target for terrorists. Al Qaeda would attack Guam before they went into Boise. If you live in NY, LA, Chicago, DC, Philly, Miami.. then fine you can be afraid of the terrorists attacking you. If you live in Boise, Cheyenne or Great Falls then forget about it.
  19. 2 follow up questions to your post... do you honestly think that Kerry would have invaded Iraq after numerous weapons inspectors clearly pointed out that Iraq did not have any WMD's? do you honestly think that if Kerry did decide to invade Iraq that he would have done it so quickly that there would have been holes in his post-war plans?
  20. by the way, i thought I would share the true story about Kerry's statement about voting for the bill before voting against it... The republicans of course want you to believe that this guy is crazy and is flip-flopping... totally not true.. the true story is that there were 2 bills that were being voted upon at nearly the same time to give troops the money they requested. The first, which Kerry voted for authorized the money but required Bush to pay for the bill by eliminating the tax cut for the richest 1%. The second bill was a blank check for Bush to spend whatever, whenever he wanted, no matter how much the deficit grew. Kerry voted against that one. The truth never hurts.
  21. 2 words are going to decide this election. "Voter Turnout" The more people that show up to the polls, the better Kerry's chances will be. I'm expecting the largest youth participation % in this election since Vietnam. (18-29 year olds) In fact, did anyone catch that MTV Special the other day with Drew Barrymore. I thought it was pretty impressive.
  22. Tufano's!!! Great place to go after a White Sox win!
