  1. The problem with that idea is that I sincerely doubt anyone on FSC or WGN would ever put a fan with a negative sign on TV embarassing Jerry. Now maybe if 5,000 fan's brought a sign or did a walk-out, that may be a different story and that might get some coverage.
  2. After reading that SunTimes article, I decided to ask Mark Cuban a question myself. Email Sent from me to him at 3:28CST Mr. Cuban- > > Good afternoon. I just read a great article in the Chicago Sun Times > regarding Jerry Reisendorf (The Chicago White Sox owner) and the writer > makes reference to you and the Dallas Mavericks as a great example of > how an > owner should interact with fans. > > My question is somewhat simple. What can the average fan or a group of > fans > do to help an owner realize that how he is running the team or how he > interacts with the fans is wrong? > > We face a constant battle here in Chicago with the Sox. Many fans don't > show > up to the games as protest to poor ownership and management decisions. > Fans > don't feel that ownership cares. Because many of these fans don't show > up, > ownership complains that due to poor attendance they don't have the $ > to pay > for quality free agents and the battle continues. It seems to be one > side > not trusting the other. > > Any thoughts? HIS RESPONSE AT 4:07CST Hold up lots of signs at the games He will respond. Nothing worse than being embaraased all game long Granted no big insight here, however it proves the point on how cool it is to have Mark or someone on his staff respond to a simple question within 39 minutes.
  3. Dave Wills may an interesting point on this on the drive home last night. People come out to the ballpark because of the discounted price. Let's say they save $13 on their ticket. Some of them, (Not all) are there to drink and hang-out. Basically an alternative to the bar. At $5.50 per Beer, let's assume they buy 8 Beers. Then they get into a brawl with some other drunks, get tossed from the game and some even arrested. Those arrested get hit with a $250 bail/fine. Let's add up the savings. Saving $13 on a ticket: -$13 Paying $2 more per Beer than the local Bar: +$16 Paying $16 for Parking: +$16 Fine for fighting: +$250 Total Savings: -$269
  4. Just an interesting tidbit from last nite's game. I was there as well. It was the first of three "teacher's nights" at the ballpark. Teachers got 75% off their ticket price for anywhere in the ballpark. Thus my girl and I got in for $14 and 2 seats down the left field line. I believe the next teachers night is July 8th.
  5. a vet who has sold a lot of stuff on eBay. 437 positive feedbacks!
  6. How about we bench Konerko and Valentin... move Olivo, Lee up in the order and drop Thomas, Crede and Rowand. 1. Harris-2B .304 AVG 2. Uribe-SS .339 AVG 3. Ordonez-RF .305 AVG 4. Lee-LF .260 AVG 5. Thomas-DH .243 AVG 6. Gload-1B .263 AVG 7. Olivo- C .271 AVG 8. Crede-3B .214 AVG 9. Rowand-CF .213 AVG
  7. nice story on Thomas. What a difference 10 yrs makes.
  8. I also wonder how many starts Danny Wright got during these 199 games without recording a W?
  9. sorry, the Daily Southtown beat me to this story.
  10. Did you know that in the past 199 games, (till the start of the 2003 Season) White Sox #5 or Spot Starters have Won a total of 3 Games. 4/19/03- Josh Stewart vs Detroit (12-3) 7/21/03- Mike Porzio vs Cleveland (4-3) 8/22/03- Neal Cotts vs Texas (7-1) If you assume that Sox #5 starters pitch every 5.5 games (assuming a 4 man rotation occasionally, rainouts, all-star break etc) that means that in the past 36+ starts they have Won 3 games. It's time to stop putting a band-aid over the #5 spot and really fix the problem. Just my thought for the day.
  11. pinch hit Maggs or Crede already!
  12. ozzie bring out the pinch hitters!!!
  13. Cotts is coming in for Garland. Another strong outing for Jon. I hope he doesn't get stuck with the loss!
  14. "Ozzie Guillen please pick up a red courtesy phone.. Ozzie Guillen."
  15. someone get Cotts or Wright warming in the Pen.
  16. why would the Sox want to keep 3 catchers? Wouldnt they want a 4th or 5th OF? I would also think they would want someone to platoon in CF if Rowand needs a breather. (And no.. Willie Harris isn't allowed to play CF)
  17. just found it interesting.. that's all. hey things are slow prior to Spring Training games. :sleep
  18. that Jason Bere earned 1 point in the 1994 AL MVP award race? Julio Franco also had 49 that year with Thomas earning the most point of 372.
  19. If you could, it would help me prove something to my future mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
  20. is there anyway you could post the Dodgers Top 30 too? It would be much appreciated.
  21. maybe im missing something here but according to their Yahoo Stats, Danny Wright has started 60 games in his career? 15 of them last year.
  22. make that a 3 way parlay. Sox (Over) + Cubs (Under) + Royals (Under) = BIG $
  23. i wonder if the cost of living adjustment exceeds the ticket price? it's more expensive for everything in NY vs Chicago.. (However not as big of a difference as it used to be)
