Arod Deal will happen, Mags going to be traded
jasonxctf replied to Loaiza21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
remember though. this also means that Valentin is off to Seattle for Freddy Garcia. without this deal.. Valentin stays at SS and we end up trading Maggs for Odalis Perez. I'd rather have Nomar, Williamson, Kim and Garcia than Maggs, Valentin, Cotts, etc. -
White Sox trade Valentin (5 mil) Konerko (8 mil) and Koch (6 mil) to the Rangers for A-Rod (25 mil) and 6 mil cash. Thus this season's payroll is around 60 mil (Releaving themselves of 19 mil + 6 mil in cash and adding 25 mil).. they dump Thomas and Maggs this offseason for a savings of 20 mil and have A-Rod tied up for the next 7 yrs. 2004 Lineup 1) Harris-2B 2) Lee- LF 3) Rodriguez- SS 4) Ordonez- RF 5) Thomas-DH 6) Crede- 3B 7) Gload- 1B 8) Rowand- CF 9) Olivo- C 2005 Lineup 1) Harris- 2B 2) Rowand-CF 3) Rodriguez- SS 4) Lee-LF 5) Borchard-RF 6) Crede-3B 7) Gload-1B 8) FREE AGENT-DH 9) Olivo- C

"Plan for the worst.. hope for the best" Lets not count on Loaiza being our #2 starter. Let's pencil him in at #3 and get a solid #2 behind Mark. As Yoda might say.. "1 year an Ace does not make"

i love it.. were you talking to Santa or "Bad Santa"

does anyone have access to Baseball America? If so, I'm interested in seeing the list of the Top 10 Dodger Prospects. Thanks

the "rookie" league, A Ball, AA, etc work for each member. What's the breakdown?

Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is a White Sox Championship. Therefore I hope you will put the following 20 items under the tree this Christmas. 1) Jerry Reisendorf to sell the club to Mark Cuban 2) A trade for Nomar and signing him to a long-term deal. 3) Frank to hit at least .275 with 35HR and 100+RBI 4) Mark to win at least 20 games 5) Esteban to prove that last year wasn't a fluke 6) Jon Garland to grow up and pitch like a big boy. 7) A solid 200+ IP, 15 Win FA pitcher. 8) Miguel Olivo to find his swing. 9) Pauly to get back on track. 10) Billy to get his arm strength back. 11) A 2nd baseman! 12) Aaron Rowand to live up to his potential. 13) Joe Borchard to start to live up to that signing bonus. 14) Jon Rauch to start to live up to the hype. 15) A stolen base every once in a while. 16) 25,000+ Fans every night 17) Damaso to continue his great pitching. 18) Kelly Wuensch to start the year like he did last yr. 19) Joe Crede to become more of a power hitter. 20) To win a game at the Metrodome. Santa, I know that if you can fit these 20 items under the tree, my dreams of a White Sox world Series are in the works. The "I Love Steve Bartman" cookies and milk will be ready for your arrival.

im going to say yes I would like the Sox to keep Nomar and here's why. Do we want to win the division next yr or are we "rebuilding" until 2005. If we want to win in 2004 then put Nomar at SS and trade Valentin. Pitching wise we would have a rotation of #1. Buehrle #2. Loaiza #3. Garland #4. Schoenweis #5. Kim/Wright/Rauch (If there still here) Even better trade Valentin for pitching. Would Seattle do a Valentin for Garcia deal? Then for 2005, we wont have Maggs contract, Valentin's contract or Frank's contract. That's the time for re-building. Lets win in 2004. Maggs for Nomar is a fair deal. Can then use the extra bullpen help.

where I could get a list of the Top 10,20 or 25 Prospects in the Dodgers system? Thanks

I seriously wouldnt mind getting our hands on Juan Cruz.. the potential is there.

KW pulls off a blockbuster trade sending Mark Buehrle and his new contract along with Jon Garland, Joe Crede and Jose Valentin to the Cubs for Paul Bako, Steve Bartman and a PTBNL. At the same point, he announces that he has signed Mike Caruso, Herbert Perry and George Bell to Minor League Contracts.

for example I do equipment leasing.. some Sox fan out there wants to lease a copier or computer and contacts me. I know someone that wants a new security system and someone here provides them.. i give them the referral.

setting up a business area. A place where Sox fans can make business referrals to each other? that way we can keep our deals in the Sox Family. Just a thought.
-
thanks.. i joined last year but business is slow. thus time to surf the boards.
-
the fact that KW thinks that Buehrle and Loaiza is a 1-2 punch worries me. Loaiza might have just had a fluke year? Rather be safe than sorry and pencil Esteban in at #3. If he has another good year.. great. If not, then we are betting the yr on a guy who has had 1 great season in his career.

Of Sox off-season moves surround Lee, Ordonez, Konerko, Thomas and Koch. I'm wondering why we haven't heard any talks of Jose Valentin? I was shocked (and a little frustrated) when the Sox gave him $5 mil for 2004. The only logical explanation might be that they were looking to deal him and pick up part of this salary. On another note.. Hypothetically if the Nomar-Manny-ARod mess happens why not get the White Sox Involved. Texas trades A-Rod to the BoSox who then trade Manny to Texas and Nomar to the WSox. The WSox then trade Koch to the BoSox. Thoughts/Comments?

that would be hilarious... can we even trade Frank with his contract agreement?
-
very true.. he just rubbed me the wrong way.. (i like up and down)
-
bring back Herbert Perry!!!

ESPN is reporting the Houston and Pettite are close to an agreement on a contract. 3 yrs, $10 mil per season... If we were offering Colon 3 yrs @ $12mil.. why not offer Pettite the same. A rotation of #1. Buehrle #2. Pettite #3. Loaiza #4. Garland #5. Schoenweis This would be a nice rotation... KW please pick up a red courtesy phone!

im so happy about this I may help Brian pack his bags and get his sorry ass outta town. What was his avg last yr. .220??? Buh Bye..

ive heard that too. If it's over 1,750,000 i think they have to pay rent. I think Sox Mgmt needs to ask itself what type of fans it wants. Wrigley and the Cubs do a great job marketing to the fans it wants.. the fans that want to party and have a good time. There aren't enough partiers in the city to fill 2 ballparks so the Sox need another angle. I think the angle of family-fun, affordable games is the route to go. Just think, there is a reason why the Chicago Wolves are doing better than the Chicago Blackhawks. The area has many minor league ball clubs (Flyers, Jackhammers, Cougars, Cheetahs) According to Crains, Lisle is looking at getting a team too. There is business out their to be had at this family-friendly idea. LOWER THE PRICES, INCREASE THE TOTAL GATE REVENUE.

exactly.. i think that in a rough economy like this, the Sox are pricing themselves out of the market. They seem to be setting themselves up for attendance failures. do they honestly believe that with less talent, higher costs and a bad economy they are going to have a solid increase in attendance? it's ridiculous. they are going down the road of the Bulls and Blackhawks when it comes to fans attending the games.
