Podsednik is also on pace for his lowest output since his first full year in the majors.
-
i'd argue that it does matter. with a lineup that is virtually the same as last year (pull out Thomas/Everett and add Thome and change Rowand with Anderson) why did we lose this aggressiveness? having guys that are running puts pressure on the opposing pitchers and defense. why have podsednik leadoff then... his blistering .335 OBP? (8th best on the team) iguchi and ozuna are running about 1/2 as much as last year too.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:44 AM) Just got back from Snakes on a Plane (excellent movie by the way), what happened so far? I see the crappy score, but who's to blame? the entire team doesnt seem motivated to play/win tonight. Freddy seemed weak. Ozzie seemed misguided. -

maybe all of the Vazquez > Garcia thoughts on this board may play true on Sunday. I doubt it though. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) Just reminding you of last year. Thought I remember seeing you say it wouldn't happen again. It isn't worth coming much anymore really. That's why all of the really good posters don't come to the game threads anymore. It's just a big whine fest from 5-year olds. what defines a really good poster??? the ones who keep drinking the koolaid until its too late? -

Last year the Sox were 4th in the league in stolen bases. They averaged .84 per game. This year the Sox are 14th averaging .57 per game.

so im confused. you guys prefer... 11-7 5.13ERA (who is 2-3 with a 5.30ERA post all star break) over 11-7 with a 4.78ERA (who is 1-2 with a 4.43ERA post all star break)???
-
how do you stack the rotation. figuring we'd be on the road, I'd guess... Game 1: Contreras (AWAY) Game 2: Garcia (AWAY) Game 3: Garland/Buehrle (HOME) Game 4: Garland/Buehrle (HOME) Game 5: Contreras (AWAY) What do you think???

great thread. I caught my one and only foul ball a few years ago at US Cellular. My friend was close friends with Dave Wills (UIC stuff) and Dave got us 4 tickets. So my friend and I went with 2 female friends of his. Well Konerko hit a foul ball off the upper deck and it bounced in the seats right behind us. I was the first to grab it and held onto it. So I was getting crap from everyone around us to give it to one of the girls. I said... screw that... I don't know these girls and I have a girlfriend (who now is my wife) at home. So I held onto it and gave it to my girlfriend that night. She later had Konerko sign it at Soxfest the following year.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) I wasn't referring to not using your cards. I was referring to having all that credit. If you have 50K in avaliable credit, yet only make 80k a year.. you might have a nice credit score, but lenders are going to be cautious of giving you more credit because at any given time you can put yourself 50k in the hole. dont believe your friend here Steff. Nothing could be further from the truth. i do corporate and personal lending and you are far better off to have more available lines of credit with $0 balances then fewer available lines of credit with a $0 balance. So basically if you have a $75k a year salary and have $100,000 in available credit lines (with a $0 balance) your score and lending rate will be lower than if you have only $50,000 in available credit lines.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) "I'm tired of people saying there's time," Pierzynski said. "There's not time. You got to go out and do it." This is the best quote I've seen out of the White Sox organization all season i wish more people on this board took this to heart as well.

i would suggest signing up for XM or Sirius's 3-day trial on their website and listen to what's available. Stern said it best... Satelitte Radio is better than Crack! As for Stern, I also think his show is better now than before. I only listened to him for 10 months or so on Terresterial Radio. I wanted to move over to satelitte but nothing put me over the goal line. That was until Howard left free radio. Typically I grab Howard or one of the (3) comedy stations in the morning. 80's/90's/or Classic Radio during the day via internet connection and then CNBC/CNN Radio or one of the 5 sports talk stations on the drive home. (Thank god no more Mike & Mike or Mack, Jurko & Harry)

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) man, Buehrle's ERA is 4.74... damn did he have a rough stretch... just think, a complete game shutout would drop this to 4.46. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) Get the bullpen ready. cotts and mccarthy... one hit and take him out. i miss the days of Ozzie helping pitchers preserve wins instead of leaving them in long enough to lose them -
per mlb.com whoops.. didnt see this in other forum. sorry.

may want to visit www.wwtdd.com right now. You wont be dissapointed. Go Sox!

in case you were wondering, Chris Stewart is currently hitting .270 with 3HR and 22RBI down in Charlotte. He's also got a .325OBP. He also catches a majority of the games for the International League's 2nd best performing pitching staff. Obviously he doesnt get credit for all of that, but a 3.22ERA should warrant a callup here soon.
