  1. True, you could argue this for sure. He obviously was not a perfect selection, but there are players that have had some success with similar issues at the MLB level. I did think Collins was BPA at that time (I can’t recall the prior draft with Fulmer). Plus a hitch in a swing doesn’t increase a player’s risk for injury like shit mechanics does. Seems way more risky to draft a flawed pitcher than hitter.
  2. The thing I find interesting is that they even drafted him knowing/observing this. I would think that if you fully believe a guy to have shitty mechanics, how can you believe changing a guys mechanics won’t cause him to lose or affect his stuff? I realize most of the good players out of that draft went before him, but was he really the BPA available at that time?
  3. My god, what a terrible photoshop job...
  4. Well, wonder what we’ll hear today. Phillies rumors? Yankees back in it? Wonder whose brother’s ex-girlfriend’s former dog sitter finds out today.
  5. It’s pretty obvious the Sox planned for this offseason to land a superstar. Yea, missing out won’t halt the rebuild, but this offseason will be a massive failure if they fail to convert on Manny or Harper.
  6. Then what other team is out there? The Padres were denied a meeting I thought? Is he seriously waitingrhe Yankees out?
  7. Would it be possible to have 2 different offers out to Machado? One if the Sox can land Harper, and one without? I can’t see that having any chance of working out, but what if they approached Machado and said if you agree to take less, we can pursue Harper, and become a better team sooner. If Harper doesn’t choose to come here we will offer you this. Seems like a terrible negotiation tactic, but with the way this offseason has gone who really knows anymore?
  8. Gotta go with Walker as a guy to keep an eye one. I feel like he's going to have a sneaky good year.
  9. If anyone want a good laugh, go read @MLB2019INSIDER latest series of tweets. Long story short, they don't know what happened (what a surprise), but they know Manny has decided to play for the Sox, just hasn't decided to put pen to paper because... wait for it... he and Harper know whoever signs last will get the bigger contract. ??? This can't end soon enough.
  10. Caleb Joseph signed with the D-Backs.
  11. Would I like Kimbrel on the Sox? Yes. Do I think the Sox should sign Kimbrel? No. They shouldn't spend that much on a closer when they are still at least 2 seasons away from competing.
  12. Hector Gomez retweeted the Andy Martino tweet about neither Machado or Harper ending up on the Yankees.
  13. WSD hit 72 if I'm not mistaken.
  14. Someone should ask Garfien to look at Alonso and Jay's gloves and see if they have 305 on the side on them.
  15. So you're saying Rawlings post irritated you? C'mon man, that provided us with some fun. No one is forcing you to believe anything against your will.
  16. Yea, I'd rather hear something than nothing. At least trying to figure it out provides me with something to do. This offseason is like watching paint dry, only your sitting staring at the wall waiting waiting for said wall to be painted as well.
  17. The way I read his last few tweets was that he saw the glove post, then immediately contacted/reached out to someone to see if it was legitimate. I think he did hear something beyond the tweets, but who knows if it's trustworthy. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. Hope it actually is coming to an end.
  18. Wow, just when you thought this offseason couldn’t get any weirder.
  19. Alonso signed #17 at SoxFest, and I thought I remember hearing Ricky was changing. Weird if he changed to 23.
  20. I wonder how much of this is affecting the Sox other roster moves they may have in the pipeline. Hahn said there were 3-4 other moves in the works. Obvious that could have been complete bull, or moves that didn’t come together. Pederson and Realmuto were 2 of them. I can’t help but wonder how Hahn and co. must be feeling that the rest of the offseason is hindging on Manny signing and ST is literally days away.
  21. This is interesting. Can’t see him signing first though. Guessing it’s the Phillies, Sox, Giants, Nats?
  22. Oh, I thought you didn't know what everyone was referring to. Yea, I agree. Taking those years off was probably good for him to not only get health but mentally right. I met him once when he was back on the Sox, and he seems like a totally normal guy. Maybe that injury and the fact not a single ball club wanted him messed him up.
  23. The thought of what that ballpark could do to his stats... he'd seriously be taking a big risk to play there. Small sample size, but he has a .164/.305/.284 slash line in that park.
