4/22: Sox @ Twins - 640CT - Cannon v. Paddack
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2024 Season in Review
Isn't there a specific amount of time required before he can be called back up unless filling in for an injury? Pretty sure they have to wait more than a few days. -
Wonder who goes. Mendick needs to be added to the 40-man.
-
They were after Whit. He picked the better team. As pretty much every FA would have done. Only reason Pham is here is because no one came calling in the offseason and the Sox can pretty much guarantee playing time for him to prove his worth so he can get traded to a contender.
-
We can't fall victim into believing that all of Nastini, Cannon, Thorpe, etc. are going to be hits. I'm totally fine with trading Fedde if a competitor offers a decent package, but the Sox need some sort of veteran presence that can give you 150+ innings. Let the arms force their way in, and keep amassing as much depth as possible.

Stop the presses: Sox hold team meeting

Ding, ding, ding! Signals to the masses that he is "taking charge." Wonder how many times he said they need to flush these first two weeks? -
No reason to not let the kids get that experience over some washed up arm like Flexen. At least they are quick to pivot in that regard.

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to Vote4Pedro's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Fletcher was actually known for his glove where Colas is not. Yes, he played CF in the minors, but a lot of young players who are top prospects get looks in CF to see if they can stick. Colas is a corner, not a CF. Can he play there in a pinch? Yes, but he belongs in RF where his cannon of an arm plays best. -
He looked the part in ST. I honestly think the only reason he was even sent down is to get an extra year of control.
-
Charlotte is one of the worst parks to evaluate pitching prospects. I wouldn't worry about 1 bad start to start the year.

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox

MiLB deal. Obviously he is gonna get a shot, but he must be extremely desperate. -
Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to reiks12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You're right, except now this organization would have to drastically overpay to get a guy to willingly choose to sign here - something they've never ever been able to do. Adams and Kim are both going to have big markets and thus the Sox will be left standing with their thumbs up their ass if by some miracle they actually did decide to go after a big name. No way any FA worth a damn is gonna want to come here. -
4/13 GT - Reds at Sox (1:10pm)
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2024 Season in Review
I have no doubt JR is so delusional he believed he was assembling 2005 2.0 with this team of nobody's. -
Or he deserves all the blame. I'll never apologize to that crusty asshole.
-
I'm not gonna lie, I'd love to see a 1-20 start by this team. I really want to see how K-Mart Mr. Clean and Getz answer to something that catastrophic.

Or he sees what a shitshow this roster is and wants no part of it. He isn’t stupid.
-
Ozzie wants to be managing again - he might just take them up on it. Problem is his style of managing doesn't work in today's game. Literally no other team has given him a second chance. Regardless, he isn't the answer, it would be another JR smoke and mirrors show living off of past success to draw fans in.

Series Wrapup - This why we want to be them
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The funny thing is... we rant how terrible the Royals organization is, yet they've been more successful than the Sox have since 2005. It's shocking how bad the Sox organization has been. -
Three straight (young) players traded for cash. "Depth" has thinned rather quickly.

White Sox bring Mike Clevinger back, pending physical
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is really all there is to it. It’s not like there’s a line of FA pitchers that are banging down to door to come here. He’s a sacrificial arm to eat the innings you aren’t gonna get with Crochet, Soroka, and Flexen. -
I'm honestly surprised they managed to keep everyone they brought in on NRI's. The only guy cut was Lucius Fox and he wasn't even a NRI for big league camp.
-
Certainly would have made more sense for him over Shaw, but this foolish FO thinks they are trying to win something this year.
-
When the same person talks up a good game, preaches playing smart and hard, and completely gets the opposite results? No, not being to hard. Pedro doesn't have what it takes to be a major league manager. I'd be shocked if we ever see him manage a team again after his Sox tenure eventually ends.

Thanks, I honestly don't know why it doesn't work anymore for me and I have no idea how to manually do it.
