Not sure how long they can realistically keep running Castillo out there during a playoff race. He is totally toast. You have to wonder what Getz was thinking considering this is who Castillo has been the entire season.

Do they move him to the pen and see if he sucks less? It's too early to DFA him. I just don't see how you can keep pitching him with the intention of winning. He's not even eating innings.

Murakami too?

He definitely needs to be moved down in the order at least

Have George tell him about the rabbits like Lennie in “Of Mice and Men”?

Next start is at home against Pittsburgh. That will say a lot, particularly with Urquidy right now.

Venable today said the team "still has confidence" in him and told him that when they talked after the game today. 😁

Pen with a rotation of Burke Martin Kay Thorpe Fedde the rest of the way

Makes the most sense to me by far. No chance in hell he is in the playoff rotation at this point. Just move him to the pen.

“He's here to help us and ultimately his job is not to go out there and throw six scoreless innings,” Venable said. “He needs to give us a chance to win. And there's been a couple in which we haven't been able to get there. We have confidence in him. We're going to continue to support him. We're going to continue to work.”

An opener? Piggy back with Urquidy?

Send his ass back to Seattle

I'd try an opener with him. Shifting him to the pen didn't work in SEA so I don't see why it would all of a sudden work here. What they should do is get Thorpe up and give him a few starts.

Yeah I think you need to try an opener. Otherwise he’s trending towards guy you leave off playoff roster.

Steve Stone was on the radio this morning and he mentioned if the Sox could tinker with Castillo's arm slot. I agree with you about trying an opener. If they can't get him right, then come up with some fictious injury and sit him down.

The problem is based on his previous temper tantrum in Seattle about his status, I am not sure he would be good with it.

An opener would keep him on a starter's schedule though. I could be wrong, but I believe the big problem in SEA was he was legit a RP out of the pen.

They definitely don’t want his ass back.

Give him another haircut.
