And We are back - sorry for the outage
Yeah, the site feels sluggish. I'm probably gonna give it a day or so before trying to stay on like I used to.

Happy 90th birthday to Mr. Jerry Reinsdorf
Hope he has a terrible day and gets the shits from his cake.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Yeah, this kid is going 1-1. The Sox would have to get cute to convince themselves otherwise.

Colson Montgomery HR prediction
I'll go 29. I think he benefited greatly from coming up in the 2nd half - pitchers have the data on how to attack him this season. Mune will lead the team in HR's.

Sox sign Fedde (2026)
If they are serious about stretching out Vasil as a starter, there is a world where he could get sent to Charlotte to start the season... I'm not advocating for that (I like him in the pen), but he does have all his options, and if we're looking at how to maximize a 40-man roster crunch, he'd be a potential way to do so without needing to get creative or entertain DFA'ing someone.

Sox sign Fedde (2026)
Don't particularly care for this, but can't say I'm surprised. The other starters available out there are clearly out of the Sox price range. I'd be surprised if he makes to the halfway point of the season.

MLBTR Offseason Outlook on White Sox
I wish they'd just turn him into the next Mason Miller. They've already alluded to the fact his mechanics could lead to an injury in a starter capacity, and now they appear to be setting him up... to eventually move into a starter role in the future (2027)? Or are they just trying to create a market inefficiency where they have elite arms pitch multiple innings?

Austin Hays
Hudson seems like a guy someone will take a chance on. He was really good in 2024.

OD 26 Man Roster Projection
I still think Lee is an odd-man out, even with Romo being DFA'd. If you plan on keeping Mead, I especially don't see how Lee makes it.

That's all? BUST!

Austin Hays
It's a lot more than his arm. His jumps are below average as well. I'm sure much of that can very well be attributed to his nagging injuries the past few years, but he's essentially useless in the field at this point in his career. We're honestly lucky he's been able to hit 20 HR's the last two years, or I'm not entirely sure he'd have any value on either side of the ball.

Going to Spring Training as a fan
I went back in 2010 - did a spur of the moment cross-country drive with my dad for 48 hrs and it was a lot of fun. We caught a night game and day game and spent some time on the backfields before the night game. I am a memorabilia guy, so I did get some autographs from various players. The best part about the backfields was Mark Buehrle randomly showed up in a golf cart and I got to talk to him for a solid 5-10 minutes. He was super nice and signed a bunch of baseballs for me. That was a long time ago, so I'm sure things have changed since then, but I would go again if I had the opportunity.

Bryan Ramos Traded To Orioles
Ramos is out of options, and he certainly isn't playing over Vargas at this point. Even though he had a very small and inconsistent sample in the MLB, his stats at Charlotte are not at all impressive - and that's one of the most hitter friendly parks in the league. He can't hit RHP. Hill gets a ton of crap for being on the roster, but he does have value in the glove and on the bases. Ramos provides no value on either side of the ball.

No way he sticks on their active roster, they will try to sneak him through too.

White Sox acquired RHPs Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin from BOS
I have a real hard time seeing him somehow stick in the rotation. I can see them hiding him in the pen. You don't see many arms go from A-ball to the MLB and have immediate success.

If Sandlin's medicals are in question, perhaps the PTBNL is dependent on his ability to stay healthy? I'm not sure if that is something that can be agreed to, but it could provide some context. Maybe the Sox have 2 options based on the outcome for Sandlin this season.

White Sox acquired RHPs Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin from BOS
I know this isn't directed at me, but PTBNL usually aren't anything significant. The Sox have a list of possible guys they are allowed to choose from the Red Sox. Likely low minors lottery tickets. Trea Turner is the last big PTBNL to be traded, but MLB changed the rules following that deal, and we're well beyond the new deadline for drafted players to be traded.

Really creative trade by Getz. I'm a big fan of Sandlin. He could be a big league contributor out of the pen this season if they wanted to go that route. They essentially turned 1/2 season of Slater into a top 10 arm in the system.
