  1. Yep, could also hit 40+ bombs. He's got a lot of risk, but also a lot of potential.
  2. And he should. Okamoto is much older, and while he is probably the 'safer' immediate option, Murakami has much higher potential.
  3. You have to be realistic, Robert isn't bringing back a top 100 guy.
  4. You're better off trading for Vientos and letting him bounce back than rolling the dice on Robert, again. You know Robert is guaranteed to get hurt at some point. He repeatedly has proven his inability to stay on the field. Sox would be smart to move on from him.
  5. AAAA player, out all season. This is more of a courtesy than future substantial value for this team.
  6. Do you really believe Jerry is going to pick up money to get a better return?
  7. For our sake I hope it is, maybe Sterns gets desperate and actually gives the Sox something of value for him.
  8. Once Jansen is off the market, Fairbanks should be able to make a decision relatively soon. Curious to see what he gets because I think Fairbanks is priced out of the Sox budget.
  9. Plus not to mention Bannister hinted at the fact his durability is not suited for it.
  10. You're still limiting yourself in the bullpen that way. Then you essentially only have 12 arms to use, while the rest of the league has 13. If you want Taylor to be a starter, you almost have to send him to Charlotte to stretch him out.
  11. It puts a lot of stress on your bullpen. If anyone before or after Taylor gets lit up in a start and can't go deep, you're effectively screwed for the rest of the series.
  12. Only thing that ever jumped out at me regarding Pallette is his extension is pretty mediocre. If there is on thing that certainly seems like a Bannister "thing" its guys with above average to elite extension. I'm not worried about it. I honestly think CLE will return him, and if they don't, Peyton Pallette is not going to make or break the future of this team.
  13. IMO, Antonacci is essentially the same player as Meidroth. I get the excitement around his performance, but I'd expect someone else at 2B with these two battling it out for a bench role if/when this team is ready to compete.
  14. I really like the Alberto pick. Seems like a guy they will be able to protect all year. I'm not sure how they are going to manage two guys in the pen again this year, especially with Paez. He's interesting but seems like the lack of innings and experience above High-A could be a problem.
  15. Would you really put it out of the realm of possibility that Getz doesn't have an understanding on Roberts actual value around the league?
  16. Why do I feel like Quero is going to be packaged with Robert to entice a team to eat all that salary?
  17. But.. he hasn't pitched overseas yet, how can Getz be interested in him?
  18. Thankfully the Rockies and A's still exist. Sox are bad, but there are other teams in the same boat.
  19. Yikes... This is really reaching if Getz thinks this is worth pursuing. KBO pitchers, I can understand, but hitting? Even with no true 1B on the team there are easily 10-15 other guys I'd rather they go after than bringing him on.
