  1. A contribution from Alexei...would be nice to get him going.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Not true...we'll still have Reed and Thornton for the 2nd game if Stults can pitch well. So are we expecting Stultz to pitch 6 or 7 innings? That's best case scenario for I'm thinking. If Stultz isn't sharp and can only go 3-5 innings what then? The way Quintana looks we're probably gonna be using about everyone besides Thornton and Reed just to get through this damn game.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Wow, I'm shocked that he pulled him given the stuff we've been talking about. Ballsy move by Robin, but he doesn't want to be blown out with their chump on the mound. Let's go whoever comes in! He tried...but s***. Humber showing no signs of competing at all out there. Humber just lost us two games today. Let's see what Quintana's got. He needs to pitch until his arm falls off. Treat this like a start. When was Quintana's last start?
  4. Humber's body language is just awful right now. He looks as defeated as Morel does after striking out.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Should of got more than 1 there. I feel lucky we got the one.
  6. Well thank God Santana throws the ball into center field so often. We would have zero runs at this point.
  7. Sox proving they can strike out just as often vs. Minor League pitchers...
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) I want Brent to hit. We got that more than we should have last season...get used to this.
  9. We get a "get up! Stretch!" from Paulie's foul ball in the first, but nothing for Becks hitting it off the top of the wall lol... DeAza 2-2 now.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) Yep, I like Humber, but he's been really bad outside of the perfect game. He's pitched well with RISP in most games...if not, his ERA could be in Danks territory. It's already nearing Danks territory now. 4.62 coming in...and now 3 runs allowed in two innings. Gotta be pushing 5.50 or something. Don't have the up to the minute stats in front of me.
  11. Humber needs to fix this. This could be a complete disaster day if we have to go the pen early in game one, with a call-up pitching game two.
  12. Bad feeling here. This feels like a 5 run inning more than it does a 3.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) I don't know wtf you're supposed to do when you throw a right handed changeup on the outside corner to a lefty and he ropes it for a single. Just shrug your shoulders I guess, lol Humber is the one that put the Indians in this rhythm. Hitting is contagious.
  14. There have been more hard hit balls by Cleveland in the first two innings here than we see the Sox get in a week.
  15. Humber really needs to buck up. He's gonna have to eat it today. No way the Sox can go to the Pen this early in game one of the DH.
  16. Hafner...jesus. What is that? 3 of his 4 homers this year against the Sox?
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 7, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Hawk says he has smoked everything right at someone. That's what some on here say about Rios and his 6/40 he has going...Fukudome has hit the ball way harder than Rios has over the past couple of weeks IMHO...and he constantly has good AB's. In a lot less chances of course.
  18. It's amazing just how badly the Sox pitchers pay for mistakes, but the Sox hitters constantly miss them. Rios got an absolute meatball there and flew out to shallow center.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 7, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) I think they give the hitter the option to either bunt or hit the ball to the right side to get the runner over, whatever the hitter is most comfortable doing. I agree with you on Lilli's bunt attempt today. It was the call on Saturday though...with this team, we need all the outs we can get, and playing for one in the American league is gonna get you beat. Not to mention playing for a tie in Detroit in the ninth with our bullpen in the state that it's in.
  20. I'm all for the Sox not attempting to bunt runners from 2nd to 3rd anymore...I hated it when they did it Saturday in the 9th inning as well...playing for the tie on the road...didn't end up mattering because of the Donkey homer, but I didn't like it nevertheless.
