Productive out Eaton.

This is the stage of the game where the Jays start having less focused AB's since there is no threat the Sox can make a game of this the way the offense has gone over the last week plus. Noesi could go 7 and save the pen.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:11 PM) Someone should have looked beyond the stats on Hutchinson. 2-1 with a 3.20 ERA in recent starts. He's also LEADING the majors in run support for a starter, right around 9 runs scored per game when he starts. (Buehrle isn't far behind, mid 8's for run support.) That's half a week for the White Sox. Yup we should totally only have 2 hits in the ballgame. Hutchinson's stuff tonight is unhittable. Tip your cap guys.
-
Ya know. All the hatred for Noesi but 5 IP and 5 runs including that putrid play by Lexi should have the White Sox in this ballgame against a guy with an ERA over 6...this offense is a complete atrocity.

QUOTE (harkness @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) Abreu and Laroche Embarassing. Absolutely.
-
Hutchinson walked off before LaRoche could give him the badass staredown after the strikeout.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) Good hustle by Melky. A guy hitting .248 sniffed a hit. Great hustle.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 25, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) Hahn and Ventura should be fired tonight. But they will be here for years to come. Ventura should...he really should. Hurts because he was one of my favorites growing up. But the wheels have come completely off at some point in every season he's been at the helm.

I'm sick of anything Twins related...including Colabello

QUOTE (daggins @ May 25, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) Eaton swinging out of his shoes for some reason. Exactly...terrible from your leadoff man down 5 runs in a 3-1 count.
-
Guy with a 6+ ERA cruises through the first 3 innings...sigh.
-
On the bright side these are nights we are most likely to see an Abreu homerun. Predicting we'll see one tonight.
-
Avi mad at the throw over because his knee hurts...because that's Hutchinson's problem and everything. Only the Sox would be polite and not make an obviously hurt player not test his ailment.
-
Not the change we wanted to see.
-
Poetic...you just knew Alexei would then ground into a double play.
-
That 63-99 team did plenty of it. Attaboy Laroche.
-
Send a message Ventura. Bench Alexei in the middle of the game (like now). Shift Beckham to short and put Gillaspie in at 3rd. Defense would simply go from Bad to garbage and it's not like this team is gonna score 4 runs in a game anyhow. Went the whole homestand without doing so.
-
We got what we deserve...have all season.
-
Can't wait to see Alexei smile at that. Not infuriating at all.
-
Yeah Chuck so much better than Hawk...Labeled that Abreu jam shot as a "smash"....hmmm
-
No reason Gillaspie should be sitting against RHP's in my opinion. Second time in last week Ventura has done that. If you wanna start Beckham put him at second and shift Gordon over to third later in the game for defense or if a LHP enters the game for Toronto.

So we all know about the Sox lack of power this season...Only 27 home runs through the first 41 games speaks for itself but if we look at when these home runs are being hit and this impact (or lack thereof) within the games they are hit it is pretty shocking. Just some stats.... 27 home runs total: 18: Solo 5: 2 Run 3: 3 Run 1: Grand slam By my count 15 of the 27 home runs have been completely un-impactful for the outcome of the game. Abreu's 7 home runs is a great example of this: HR 1: Opening day Solo to make the score 4-1 KC in the middle innings in a game they lost 10-1 HR 2: Solo Home Run to put the Sox up 3-1 in a game they would win 4-1 HR 3: Grand Slam in Detroit to push Sox lead to 9-1 in a game they win 12-3 HR 4: Solo to put the Sox up 1-0 in first inning of a game they lose 6-2 HR 5: Next game Solo in the first to give Sox 1-0 lead in a game they win 6-0 HR 6: Ninth inning Solo with the score 10-1 Cincinnati in a game Sox lose 10-4 HR 7: Yesterday to make score 5-1 Twins in a game Sox lose 8-1 Abreu has not homered in a game decided by less than 3 runs...and 6 of the 7 have come with no one on base. His last meaningful (if you can call it that) home run came all the way back in the Sox second home series of the season against Cleveland. In 41 games the Sox have at least one home run in 18 games. Have not homered at all in 23 games. Their longest steak of not hitting a home run was 9 games straight. Home runs hit in games: 0: 23 1: 10 2: 7 3: 1 4+: 0 The Sox have hit back to back home runs in a game precisely one time at this point (Garcia, Laroche 1st inning in Milwaukee) and funny enough it was on a day our best home run hitter wasn't even in the lineup. Home Runs to tie or take lead NOT INCLUDING to make score 1-0 Flowers 3-run bomb in KC to make score 3-1 Sox in an eventual 7-5 loss Soto to tie Minnesota 4-4 in the 5th in a game Sox win 5-4 Cabrera 3-run homer off Chamberlain in 8th inning to tie game 6-6 in an eventual Sox 7-6 victory(biggest home run of the season to date). That's it folks At some point you would think a break out would come...because not only is this team not hitting the ball out of the yard but the ones that they actually are hitting are about as meaningless as it gets.

14 runs in 6 games so far on this home stand. Exciting brand of baseball they're playing.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 23, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) I'm just waiting for Abreu to go on one of his absolutely bonkers stretches. Really kind of the thought that stretch would begin this series (and hopefully it still will). Toronto, Baltimore, Houston and Texas coming up on this road trip really should cure OFFENSIVELY what ails this team.
