  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2011 -> 02:52 AM) Just think. If we win and Cleveland loses we'll only be 11 out. If that were to happen we would be 10 out...11 in the loss column, but still.
  2. QUOTE (Real @ May 8, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) yeah the sox won 6-0 or whatever the score was, but the first 4 innings the Sox looked like absolute s***, how many times did they have guys with RBI opportunities who completely s*** themselves? not sold on this game being some preordained 'turned it around' game, win the next 8 and maybe i'll be a believer 6 runs on 17 hits = players pissing themselves in the clutch. white sox baseball. They were far from perfect tonight, and they have a long way to go...but 17 hits for a team that has needed 5 games or so to get to that number the last few weeks is a step in the right direction. They scored 6 runs. Gordon had 3 hits; Rios had 4; Morel had 3...those are three guys that need to produce if this team ever is going to make this season interesting again. We have had all year to s*** on this team for losing/bad baseball. They weren't perfect tonight, but they pitched it; they fielded it; and they pounded out 17 hits. This was a good night. One of the few this season. Let's not spend the night s***ting on it becuase they missed some chances. It could be a step in the right direction. May not be, but I think we would all feel better if we would just enjoy it for a night.
  3. Mitchell ALMOST went a game without striking out. Struck out his last AB of the night. Went 1-4 with an RBI.
  4. Bottom of our order...Well done gentlemen.
  5. Win streak on the way...I'm all in.
  6. Quit licking your uniform Ryan...
  7. It speaks to how bad we have been going that a 5-0 game in the 7th still makes nervous. Feels like anything can still happen even though Gavin is dealing and Seattles offense is attrocious.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) Didn't Rios also hit that awesome walkoff against Aardsma in a game Fister started? Yes
  9. Even in the short instances over the last 22 games the Sox have held a lead, it seems like the other team always has the momentum becuase we are constantly missing opportunities, or have an absolute piss poor effort inning at the plate and half inning is over in 2 minutes.
  10. 1 run on 8 hits. 3 double plays.
  11. Hey! A break! Things are turning.
  12. At some point...could we just let an inning play out? At least let Gordo have a crack at strike one before we attempt another ill-fated steal.
  13. 18-37 as a team now. Good slide gets that base.
  14. Adam Kennedy batting 4th...wow.
  15. I knew if I busted out that stat about scoring no first inning runs in 14 games, and one in 22 games we would put one up. Good start.
  16. I really don't see why Teahen isn't playing tonight. He should be playing against every right hander at this point...
  17. Flowers 0-3 with a couple of K's as well. McPherson also 0-3 with 2 K's...gross.
  18. I'm ready for a winning streak. Pierre/LF Aram/SS Dunn/DH Konerko/1B CQ/RF AJ/C Rios/CF Becks/2B Morel/3B
  19. Come on...if that's Thornton looking "awesome" just kill me. He gave up 4 hits in an inning and and two thirds to an offense that is worse than any in baseball (not including the Sox).
  20. In this 22 game stretch the Sox have been on they have scored ONE first inning run (Niemann game). Currently on a 14 game streak without a run in the first inning. The Sox have scored THREE second inning runs (all in one game vs. Baltimore...a 10-4 loss). So 21 of 22 games they have scored zero in the second. The Sox have scored SEVEN runs in the third inning (4 in the Niemann game). Unbelievably, that is ELEVEN runs in 66 innings played over the first three innings of our last 22 ballgames. Pathetic offense. Just pathetic.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:58 PM) The biggest question is why Crain wasn't used in the 9th. Make too much sense.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:49 PM) I will do that. Could you please get me a list of all the other starters who have shut us down? I'd like to be an equal-opportunity hat tipper. Many are deserving of that tip with this punchless piece of s*** team. Let's just tip our caps to Fister and Bedard and get it out of the way.
  23. This team is so painstakingly predictable. Nobody makes a play, gets a hit, makes a pitch...man oh man.
