  1. I like he already is being quoted as coming here with an edge and a point to prove. Look at cause this guy has proved he could be a monster. I like it, I really really like it!
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) We got 5.5 million in this deal. So that is what he is owed completely or what?
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) Can't, new rule says players can't change numbers midseason. They have to apply for a number change for the next season if with the same team the following year. Thus why Matsui is wearing 35 instead of swapping with Matt Moore. Yep it's an attempt to not affect Jersey sales. If a player changes numbers it leaves vendors with an overstock of old numbers. Stupid but unfortunately part of business of professional sports
  4. Well that takes the stink out of losing Lilli. Great day for Whitesox baseball baby!!!! The greek god and a W moving us into first. Boom!!!!
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) Heyman confirms it's Lillibridge and Stewart. Ouch, for some reason that hurts a little more now that Lilli is involved... We better not be on the hook for any $$$
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) de aza beckham Dunn konerko AJ rios Youk tank ramirez. We somehow went from a team chalk full of easy outs a few months ago to a team that hardly has one now. Amazing what happens when guys play to their potential That's a pretty solid lineup if you ask me. Just adding a decent threat put of third adds to the dynamic of the team.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:09 PM) There's no way we take on $3 million and give up 2 warm bodies. I agree, im guessing a double or triple A bat if anyone else being paired with Stewert.
  8. QUOTE (59th street @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) Kaplan couldn't find his ass with two hands and a road map; total jerk off. I agree Kaplan is probably reporting whatever we are saying here on Soxtalk the guys a joke. I wish he would disappear off of the Chicago sports scene.
  9. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal As of yesterday, #RedSox were willing to assume about 60-65 percent of Youkilis' remaining obligation - about $5M of nearly $8M.
  10. I don't see us parting with Lilli nor Esco. It won't be something off the roster unless it's O-Dog. Once the sox game is over KW will emerge with his smirke bragging about how he made a dollar out of .50 in faith that we the sox fans start showing up. I think Lilli and Esco are safe.
  11. Hopefully the utility guy is Hudsons bum ass. I never want to see him pop up again. Gross thank goodness the Greek Saviour is on his way here
  12. Awesome trust me I think this is a move that is ends up being the difference maker. All this guy needs is a new team and manager and he'll resort back to the .260-.275 Youk and be a great asset to the bottom of our lineup. Nice wok Kenny, no if it isn't to much to ask go and snag us a starter before our Division rivials have a chance to.
  13. Looks like it was just all positioning the past two days, once the smoke clears well see who held out longer us or them: Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com tweets the White Sox appear to be the most likely destination for Youkilis and, as of yesterday, the two teams were haggling over money. Knobler adds in a separate tweet that Youkilis is not headed to the Dodgers.
  14. Man all the panic about it being Thorton was for nothing, KW isnt going to subtract from what we have now. Great move let's just see what he has left. I'm one happy man, only thing would make this day better is an England victory and obviously the Sox putting one on the board with a Tank walk off!
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) I could deal with that. That would be a heck of a deal, assuming they are picking up the cash that has been rumored. Ive been saying it for a few days, I have a feeling this move turns out to be an impact move for us. Lets just hope if it's us the change in stockings lights a fire in the Greek God.
  16. Well it's clear that was his last game as a BoSox so we will find out after our game wraps up. I still very much doubt it will be anyone if our ML roster if it is us indeed who trades for him. And I have a feeling it is.
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) I assume he's okay. Yes he was checked out by the trainer and returned to the game. But when it happened you could clearly see he was in pain.
  18. Pete Abraham @PeteAbe Fenway playing "Call Me Maybe." Clearly secret code for the Youkilis trade. Okay guess we have our ansewer.... They are desperate, lol.
  19. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) They had traded him to Tampa after acquiring him from Atlanta a day before. You got it, guess they wanted him back. Here is the rest of the post in MLBTR: The Pirates announced that they have claimed infielder Drew Sutton off of waivers from the Rays. This marks a return of sorts for Sutton, who spent less than 24 hours as a member of the Pirates last month. On May 20th, Atlanta sent Sutton to the Bucs for cash considerations and the infielder was flipped to Tampa Bay the next afternoon for a player to be named later. The 28-year-old was designated for assignment by the Rays on Friday. Sutton posted a .271/.314/.354 batting line in 51 plate appearances for the Rays in 2012.
  20. Nick Cafardo @nickcafardo Oh great. Youk getting hand checked by trainer after fielding linedrive. Pete Abraham @PeteAbe Youkilis just caught a line drive and is being attended to bya trainer. Worst case scenario for #RedSox
  21. Nick Cafardo @nickcafardo Youk gets standing o from crowd. 1:11pm - 24 Jun 12 May be his last horah in front of the faithful. Seems pretty dumb especailly since Youk was lucky he wasnt hurt worse. That is why you dont play someone who has a chance to be traded.
  22. Hit him right where the hand meets the glove, a rocket line drive. Stayed in the game, still looking at his hand after the play though.
  23. Youk is hurt off a line drive at third. Looks like he jammed his thumb LOL that is what you get. Well see how serious it is.
  24. He gone, Pirates claimed him off waivers according to MLBtraderumors.com
