  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) And yet he is still throwing around ridiculous free agent money. CC is a pretty good pitcher... and he was someone that if he left... we'd be in deep trouble. The extra 30 million wasn't a backbreaker for me.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) Reddick, Middlebrooks, Lavarnway. huh? Are you trying to say those three are better than Banuelos and Montero?
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 09:55 AM) Ah yes. Gotta love overhyped untouchable Yankees prospects. So many of them wind up being solid contributors in the Major Leagues. Clippard, Melancon, Tabata, Coke, Jackson, Kennedy, Vizcaino, Dunn, Cabrera, Fryer(pushing it with him I know), the only trade that in the past 4 years where we didn't give up someone of value was to you for Swisher... Not to mention Gardner, Robertson, Nova, Cervelli and Noesi. I forgot about Karstens who is a solid 5th pitcher in the NL. That's just off the top of my head too, there might be one or two more guys. John Axford as well.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) Then again the Red Sox always need pitching too... The sox don't have anyone in their farm system that rivals Montero or Banuelos... So if you want a lesser prospect then by all means. If you want to get me or well Cashman going then mention the Rangers. Anyway Cashman doesn't make panic moves, he's shown he is in full control. We didn't make a move the past two deadlines and again last off season we went into the season with Garcia and Colon in our rotation. Our rotation right now is in a lot better shape than it was last year so...
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) I hope is not being sarcastic anyway. If the Yankees want Danks, you sure as hell ask for their top guys. Look at it this way. They can have Danks for next year while giving up prospects, or they can go 5-6 years and $100m+ for Wilson. You aren't going to get Montero or Banuelos for Danks...
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) Who's the big Yankee SP prospect? Edit: Manny Banuelos...I'm sure Kenny will start out by demanding him and/or Montero. I know you're being sarcastic but I think maybe what you could get is Betances and some lower guys.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/11/sher...r-pitching.html I'd give up Romine for Danks, we've got the catching depth right now so that move wouldn't hurt us. Cervelli can be the back up and Montero the third catcher to Martin. Yankees will likely have JR Murphy in Trenton and top prospect Gary Sanchez in Tampa. Just will need to sign a vet backup for Triple-A.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 11:39 AM) Sox need to trade Danks. He seems intent on testing free agency. Field offers for as long as you can and take the best one. Kenny Williams is your GM... he'll take the first offer he gets.
  9. QUOTE (sox win @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) I don't know much about the kid Ranuado and his health, but your right he is a young picher. In reference to Reddick and Ellsbury, neither one could be as fragile as Quentin. You could have Randuado for nothing... He's a free agent he just goes under the name Andrew Brackman. Anthony throws 96 mph but it's straight and his secondary pitches are less than good. He's a 22 year old college pitcher who wasn't impressive in high A ball.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) I'm just confused by why the Yankees would just let him go. He will be 23 when the season starts, and probably be assigned to Birmingham. That's an appropriate age, and his numbers have been good. I wonder if he is just a terrible teammate or something? Off the field issues? I was never a Quintana fan, but he was 23 in A ball and absolutely burried by depth. He wouldn't of had a shot in the system and certainly wouldn't of gotten a 40 man roster spot. He could be a nice lefty out of the pen but he needs to prove himself in Double-A and Triple-A.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) You have it backwards. I do? I thought he wasn't too good at the start of this year or the end of last year. Im just confused I didn't play fantasy baseball the last two years and it screwed me up
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 08:26 AM) This just screams John Danks or Matt Thornton Buster_ESPN Buster Olney NYY figure a lot of their winter work will be in trade discussions, because they've got prospects to deal -- and they will talk pitching. Cashman hinted in a conference call he won't be in the market for a LHRP, but Danks... yes please. How was Thornton this year? I remember he was good, then not so good haha. I kind of lost track of him tho
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 08:06 AM) With the pen they had last year, if he were good enough, there would be a spot for him. Yankees bullpen is pretty much set. Mo, Robertson, Soriano and Logan are all set. Wade was a nice find as well. Noesi should get a shot to start cause he's a lot better than Nova, so we'd need a long man but Brackman should really be a one inning pitcher. It's my guess they agreed to terms before they released him and he'll re-sign to a minor league deal after the Rule 5 draft. Cause if he didn't make it out of ST he'd have to pass through waivers.
  14. QUOTE (albert05 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) I dont think Grady will stay in Cleveland, Bradley has become better CF and leadoff guy, Grady dosent fit into the future Thats just due to Sizemore never being a leadoff hitter...
  15. QUOTE (Fantl916 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) Andrew Brackman released by the Yankees today. Sign em up, Coop will fix him! He dominated out of the bullpen when he switched back to his college delivery. I have to think the Yankees have some sort of deal with him to sign him back to a minor league deal cause theres no way he'd make the team out of ST and he doesn't have any options left.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) How so? Romine is at least valued comparitively with Montero since he's more likely to stick at catcher, and you're adding in extra pitchers, for a guy who had a terrible year last year. The Yankees are just going to sign CJ in that case. Romine and Montero are not even close... Montero has an epic bat, probably second best bat in the minor leagues. He's a top 6 prospect on that alone, which should tell you something. Romine is probably in the backend of the top 100 list around 85 to 100. I'd run Cashman over with my car if he signs CJ Wilson. I do not want and I don't see how we could even sign him to fit within the budget. We're already at a 194 million payroll and Hal has a cap at 208, 212 if he signs off on extra money. Wilson's going to cost 18 to 20 million per as well and we need more than just him.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) That's more than they were willing to give up for Cliff Lee. No.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) A moderately talented, AA level player and a moderately talented lower level player. Really? I'd build a package around Romine. Romine, Phelps/Mitchell(both Triple-A pitchers who are MLB ready or near MLB ready) and JR Murphy/Slade Heathcott.
  19. What kind of return are you looking for when/if you trade Danks? Say from the... Yankees.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Give me Reddick, Iglesias OR Ranaudo, and Vazquez. If they want Thornton too, I want both Iglesias and Ranaudo. Iglesias can't hit a baseball... Ranaudo is overhyped. Straight fastball, meh secondardy pitches. Their top prospects is Will Middlebrooks... I don't even know if Iglesias would be in their top 5.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) Paul Konerko plays 1B for us. And no. Yeah but Paul Konerko's old.
  22. Quick question would you do John Danks for Ivan Nova and Austin Romine? Maybe even toss in Laird, not sure of your 1B/3B position
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) The people that like Stewart had better be right because he's really the one guy that can salvage the entire Daniel Hudson/Edwin Jackson saga of the last year. I don't think Frasor can, although he is a decent reliever. No it's the prospect you'll get for Frasor in the draft that will... Stewart isn't anything special more like a horse at the end of the roto.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) Some recent succesful ones might include Ian Kennedy, Marcus Thames, Juan Rivera Kennedy, Jackson, Clippard, Melancon, McAllister, Karstens, McCutchen, Tabata, etc. None of them are super stars but only Tabata and Jackson were given that label.
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) He's playing like s*** this year. Congrats you're an idiot. I bet you'd do anything to have Montero now instead of Frasor and Stewart.
