  1. why the f*** do these guys swing at the first pitch in such a pivotal situation.
  2. So much for being amongst the league leaders in Pitches per Plate Appearance.
  3. Ok my hope completely drop once I heard the lefty coming in... oh well Dunn just draw a walk here. Don't know why ppl didn't want Alexei bunting, he would have just gotten just messed things up by grounding into a DP.
  4. I actually think Dunn will knock in some run(s) right here
  5. Beckham could have been packaged for Fielder or Gonzalez (with the addition of others ofcourse, but not a hell of alot). Instead KW keeps Beckham and gets Dunn. Fielder would have prolly just cost $5 million more than Dunn. But obviously noone expected Dunn to put a miserable season for so long. Beckham's value is diminishing very fast, soon he will be worth nothing much as he will be known as just a mere above average fielder.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) Floyd Peavy Humber Sale ? That's awful I believe Buerhle will be back for 10 million/yr, 2 year deal or something. Humber just seems to have run of gas, which is understandable considering how much innings he has pitched, so I am not too concerned with him. I certainly don't want to deal Danks off cuz, we would probably be selling him low, since he's pretty much been a under .500 pitcher with a ~4 era this yr.
  7. Alexei Ramirez has been s*** for a while now. Funny how we were thinking him and Floyd were gonna have career years cuz they overcame their out of the gate struggles. But in reality they are worse this yr compared to past season. Wouldn't be surprised if Morel and Beckham end up with a higher BA than Ramirez.
  8. I dunno what's going to happen this offseason. They gotta get rid of Floyd that's their top priority. Insert Sale into the rotation. Unload Quentin and hope for decent haul of young players. Doubt the front office will fire Ozzie tho.
  9. hey atleast we get a decent draft pick out of this s***... wait Kenny will sign some old Type A douche and surrender his 1st rounder.
  10. only 1 run with the bases loaded and 1 out which came on a error.... pathetic
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 11:28 PM) How many hits does Jeter have tonight? 11? I'm a big fan of using the closer down 11, though. I thought Peavy wud have been out there
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) Will Ohman & the Sox offense are trying to ruin my poll! U can give up on that idea with Oz running the team. He will even use Peavy b4 using a positional player
  13. Is it seriously Pitcher's Night out today or something, they just won't deny a team without giving up a run
  14. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) we saw jeter and CC last night at Roots pizza last night around midnight. both were very nice guys They are not as good as Rios tho
  15. this is when we officially begin to stretch out Sale
  16. Top of the 9th down by 1, Ozzie will make Rios pitch
  17. In other news, Edwin Jackson just had his worst start in the season. Statline ain't pretty: 7.0 Inn. 14 H, 10 Runs, 8 ER, 4 Hr That is one ugly ass outing
  18. wow White SOx have more hits vs CC than Yankees have vs Peavy
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) Now that we're going with a 5 man rotation, it's just stupid and ignorant to push Peavy like this. I suppose its the only way to get his stamina back to the big league levels
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) Way to go Ozzie putting that terrible player in the #4 spot against a LHP. ya we should have put Rios at #4
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Yep, and it pisses me off. I truly feel like San Diego was anticipating this, and it's something many of us were mentioning when the Cubs were going after him. Ya its truly a tragic ending for such a promising career Peavy had. Maybe who knows he bounces back next year, but I am writing him off. Being a max effort guy he is, the innings + sliders finally caught up to him
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) I was thinking the opposite, as Petco is just a pitcher's heaven and the AL adjustment seemed like it would be hard for Peavy. Well I don't think the Petco arguement has much validity to it in the Peavy case. Petco Park is huge park that swallows a few Hr, agree. Well we all know too that the Cell is a HR bandbox. But Peavy does not allow a whole lot of HR. If I am correct, his Hr rate this season would be amongst his career low, astonishing I know. You gotta keep in mind Petco Parks may swallow Hr but it doesn't swallow strikeouts, which Peavy was the best in his league hands down.
