  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) I pretty much think everything said in this post is a bad idea. Hahahaha well I think trading Floyd away saves money which can be used to somehow extend Danks. Otherwise I am not quite sure how bad of an idea this is, would like to hear ur thoughts.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) I like that he works fast and hits the lower part of the zone. Definitely looks like he has the makings of being a middle of the rotation starter, which is nice. Which is why he would be the perfect replacement for Gavin Floyd. I hope our rotation going forward looks like Buerhle, Peavy, Danks, Stewart, Sale, Humber. Maybe they go with the 6 man next year as well. Buerhle and Danks are question marks ofcourse. But assuming they stay atleast somebody has to go, which is why I think they are gonna keep burying Sale in the bullpen, which is waste.
  3. Wow amazing.. this kid is great!
  4. wow Dunn... making Pavano look like a strikeout pitcher
  5. good thing Konerko cashes one in
  6. that flyball wud have gotten us a sac fly... which is huge for us
  7. C'mon Morel you gotta make that to 3rd
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) I'd rather him look like a real starter. Ozzie stated he doesn't want him starting though. Really when was this? Something he said in spring training or recently. I'd hate Sale to not be starting or else we will just be wasting his talent in the bullpen. Even tho he contributes to the bullpen, we can maximize his value as starter. Which is what I felt the management believed in.
  9. Here we go again. I remember a year or two ago, the Jays commentators called Rios the owner of a thousand different stances. I dunno how a guy can change his stance that many times over the course of his career. But, I guess whatever it takes to get out of this funk should be attempted. Atleast he's trying to change what makes him suck instead of staying the same. Let's hope he can figure things out and contribute next year.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...mp;t=p&year= Thanks bud. Totally forgot Danks was down which made it a 5 man rotation. With the relief stint in mind, the period where he sucked coincides with 4 days rest on those starts. Maybe they don't want Peavy pushing it too hard with only 4 days of rest since he did not have the routine offseason workout to build up overall strength and stamina due to rehab from lat surgery. And they get a glance of Zach Stewart and see if he's able to actually pitch at the big league level, so if they decide to get rid of a starter and opt not to bring back Buerhle they can fall back on Stewart.
  11. Any1 know if Peavy has pitched on normal rest (for 5 man rotation) without any of those offdays interfering, this year. Maybe thats why they are hesitant on allowing Peavy to pitch tmr and moved him after, if I am not mistaken, his season high in pitches his last game out.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) Maybe it was the extra 25 or so pitches he threw for no reason in his last start. Oh well, it will be more interesting watching Stewart pitch tomorrow. Maybe its the White Sox taking the precaution on Peavy. About time they do something and stand up against Peavy to prevent him from possibly hurting himself cuz knowing Peavy he won't back down regardless of how bad he feels. Let's see what Stewart is made of, wasn't blown away with his stuff but we will see how it goes. And Stewart wasn't all that in his Charlotte start as well, but he is facing a weak offense in Minnesota, but then again we always suck against them.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) Bruney DFA. Zach Stewart will start tomorrow. Peavy Sunday. So we are back to a 6 man rotation. I don't mind the move as we get to see Stewart and see how good he is.
  14. Ya we win but Crow f***ed things up for us, Detroit is up so we won't gain any ground on the division. Valverde coming in for the save and he's perfect in SV situation this yr. And tmr Verlander is pitching, so not looking too good for our chances to get atop the division.
  15. Why would any1 even think about bringing in Thornton. You got Sale and Crain and plus we are winning too.
  16. Gameday shows two pitches shoulder/head high, I don't even know if he would accept an IBB, he would swing at those too, never seen a guy so allergic to a walk.
  17. Only happens to us... basically they bring in Ohman and Bruney equivalents and get our guys out, I certainly can never envision us doing the same in that circumstance
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) I know it was a rhetorical question but Dunn almost never swings at the 1st pitch . Probably didn't want to get behind in the count. The ball Q hit caught a lot of the plate. Most likely looked pretty good to him. Exactly Dunn is 3rd in the AL in pitches/plate appearance, and he goes hacking at the first pitch.
