  1. Prior to Peavy joining the White Sox, he was probably the best strikeout pitcher in the league, yea maybe Santana will make a case. With the Sox, I think he only twice or so had more Ks in innings pitched in a start. (One being the relief game today, and a game vs KC last yr where he had 9Ks in 7)
  2. I don't even know what difference would be brought to the team with a change in coach staff (except for Cooper). The players are at fault more than the coaches IMO.
  3. I thought Peavy was gonna be so deadly when he came to White Sox cuz he would actually have an offense this time, and not get a no decision for his usual shutout or 1 Er he gave. But man who was I kidding, Sox offense is worse than the Padres
  4. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) well we just have to agree to disagree it is pretty obvious that he was never a great pitcher for us even before the injury completely agree he wasn't even close to how great he was at one point.
  5. I gotta say its awful to see Peavy just struggle like this, what a career he was to have but injuries got the better of it
  6. Was unable to catch this game. First off, hope PK is arite, definitely whatever move we can make to oust Detroit and Cleveland for division crown lies heavily on Konerko's shoulder. Hearing that he might not play tmr in a game vs CC he's is our only hope for sure, and every game matters. If he doesn't play tmr might as well make the team not show up vs CC definitely with Peavy on the mound who Ozzie thinks is 100% and will drive him to 110 pitches heck even for 2 days rest as a relief pitcher. Now onto the game itself, by the looks of the boxscore it seems to be the same old story, well sort of. We actually got 10 hits vs their starter, but of course we can't cash them in which is oh so familiar. Buerhle is Buerhle, the usual quality start. I dunno what Crain decided to do today but I can excuse him for how well he pitched this season. Frasor looks like he wasn't able to do what he was supposed to do and A-Gone made the team pay. Looks like Oz played the % in the lefty-lefty match up but if your gonna do that why not bring in Thornton. We couldn't do anything against their bullpen, which should be expected when you have Pierre, Dunn and Rios playing as the heart of the lineup. Morel got couple hits which is encouraging cuz he got 3 his last game like 4 games ago or so. So i guess another 4 game break for him for sure. Definitely a game Sox should have won of basis of the pitching matchup but then again, the offense can't even match up to the worsts in the league, and minus Konerko don't have any terms to describe how bad they are then. Couple this with a Detroit win, we fall further back in the race. Only 4.0 i know but we are running out of time. Good to see CQ not leave, looks like nothing significant enough for Kenny to make a move. However the Indians and Tigers got better with the arms they got. So this race just gotten more interesting and a bit tougher for us now too.
  7. I dunno what to expect of Humber tmr its gonna be just his 2 appearance since July 7th, which means over a span of 23 days just his second start, hopefully he is not rusty.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) How did Lester look in his first start off the DL? He did good 1 run in 6 innings or so I believe against KC
  9. now that Pence has been traded to Phillie that leaves Quentin to Atlanta? No more Domonic Brown
  10. BREAKING NEWS SI_JonHeyman confirmed pence goes to philly for singleton, cosart, 2 PTBNL. so now Quentin left to Atlanta I guess?
  11. SI_JonHeyman confirmed pence goes to philly for singleton, cosart, 2 PTBNL.
  12. just saw the Salty Hr and was that ever a flat ass slider
  13. is the knuckleball really dancing or is it the usual pathetic offense to blame
  14. Trumbo RBI single makes it 2-1, boy that guy has been helping us out here
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) 2-0 Royals, 1-0 Angels. Good start. f***k Detroit tied it with a Boesch Hr
  16. how about Quentin for Jayson Heyward, now that would be something
  17. Now the tweet that says Sox are waiting on Viciedo's recovery to trade Quentin might shed light to that rumoured Rios deal, which means there is no RF to put in if Viciedo is not ready.
