  1. Wilkins and Ravelo should be ahead of Black, IMO.

  3. This is totally out of nowhere, but do you think Chicago could ever get a second NBA franchise? Weren't there some rumblings about the Hornets looking at Chicago a couple years ago? Just a random thought I had.
  4. Happy with the Hartman pick. I watched all of the World Juniors games in Russia last year, so I'm already somewhat familiar with Hartman. He was on the line that shut down the other team's top players, and did so effectively.
  5. It's sad that I have no emotion toward these games, I don't care at all what happens. Why am I still watching?
  6. Oh f***, I didn't see that this was an old thread as I was skimming over it. Confused as s***.
  7. Duncan Keith really wanted to go Braveheart, I saw him trying to get the mic on for awhile.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) Nothing really new here. Although, it does seem that rival execs think the SOX players have more value than many here seem to indicate, not that that is of any surprise. I noticed that too.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 04:46 PM) Well, $1.6M would put him in the mid-late first round, money-wise, if that helps. Sweet.
  10. Let's imagine he was eligible for this year's MLB Draft, where do you think a player like this would have went? I know we don't really know a lot about this guy, but just guess.
  11. Very excited by us going out and making a splash in Latin America.
  12. Okay, so I saw this on Baseball Tonight and want to make sure I got it right. The A's gave the rights to San Jose awhile ago to the Giants so that they (the Giants) had a stronger case to stay in SF and not leave for Tampa Bay. Now that the Giants are obviously still in SF, and one of the best franchises in the league, they won't give the rights to San Jose back to the A's? I hate the Giants.
  13. Damn. I haven't followed the farm system as much as I used to, so this was the first time seeing his stats. While I always thought he was overrated within the organization, I also feel terrible for him. It seemed like he just couldn't recover from that injury he suffered before the 2010 season.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 06:55 PM) Of course a MIAMI newspaper posted that article. Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? The guy works for the AP and lives in Chicago I guess. I found his Twitter account. https://twitter.com/Dbabwin
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 12:40 PM) I could watch that all day.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) And the NL's streak continues... Lol. True story, I have a friend (Cubs fan) who honestly believes that National League teams are better because of the past three All-Star games.
  17. QUOTE (MaggsOrdonez @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 07:51 AM) If you include the Caribbean with the Netherlands (Netherlands Antilles), I think that's a somewhat untapped market that's shown stars in the past (Andruw Jones, Jurickson Profar). As for 10~20 years down the road I think you have to be looking at China. Per wikipedia they went into an agreement with Japanese baseball in 2007 for training, and I think statistically there have to be some excellent athletes there. I agree, China could be scary. Also, welcome to SoxTalk!
  18. Pretty good question, never really thought about it. I know that many of the players weren't born and raised there, but some of those Eurpoean nations (Italy, the Netherlands, Spain) put up impressive showins at the World Baseball Classic.
  19. I'm still scarred from Morel's time in the majors. Obviously going hitless in June for Gillaspie sucks, but I like what I saw in the first two months. But thinking about benching him or replacing him in favor of Morel, instead of giving him more ABs, is definitely...not smart.
  20. That's pretty cool, except for the University of Iowa part. Also, I think I saw the LumberKings on a commercial the other day, has anyone else seen this?
  21. I don't know whether to post the stats here or on the daily game thread, so I'll put them here for now. RHP Victor Done started and went only an inning, giving up 3 ER on 4 hits and a walk. DH Hanleth Otano, 1-4, 2B, 2 SOs 1B Frano Pizzoli, 2-4, RBI SS Johan Cruz, 0-4, 2 SOs OF Jhan De Jesus, 1-4, 2 RBI, SO
  22. Highlighting some of the prospects you mentioned: OF Hanleth Otano, 0 for 4 with a strikeout. SS Johan Cruz, also 0 for 4 with a strikeout. Others: OF Jhan De Jesus, 2 for 4 1B Robertson Valdez, 2 for 4 with a RBI 3B Vladmir Santana, 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs Luis Arteaga started an went 4 innings, only giving up one walk and striking out 2.
