2013 NFL Draft
Yeah, pre-draft reporting makes CNN and the NY Post look incredibly accurate.

2013 NFL Draft
Translated: Half of team execs have their eyes on someone else and are talking up Manti to get somebody to take him, the other half have their eyes on Manti and are talking him down in hopes that nobody ahead of them takes him, and the coin I flipped just came up tails so I'm agreeing with the half that don't want him.

Oh, if Eifert is there at 20 I take him over Te'o no question. I don't think he'll be there though.

2013 NFL Draft
The intersection of "Players who are worth the 20th pick" and "Players who will be available with the 20th pick" is very small if not zero. Trading down would be nice if they can find a taker but if not they are going to get a 2nd round talent regardless of position.

2013 NFL Draft
There aren't 20 first round talents in this draft, so the Bears probably aren't getting first round talent with their pick. He is somewhere around the 20-30th best player in this particular draft.

2013 NFL Draft
I'll trust Kiper and McShay's opinion of his ability to play MLB over yours, and those two certainly don't give a f*** about his name.

2013 NFL Draft
Because he's from Notre Dame and hating Notre Dame is way more important than, you know, football reasons and stuff.

It must be said - Hawk Harrelson has to go
My problem with the most ardent adherents to sabermetrics its that they take their numbers as absolute proof of one player being better than another. I will freely admit that WAR is a far better evaluation tool than AVG and RBI, but please do not try to tell me that Player A with a WAR of 5.0 is 100% undeniably better than Player B with a WAR of 4.8. Sabermetrics is not THAT exact of a science. There is plenty of margin for error in park factors, strength of opponents faced, etc., to be that exact. I'm not accusing any particular person on this board because I haven't seen that extreme kind of behavior here, but I have seen it plenty of places.

Mike Mayock did his mock on NFLN last night and he has the Bears taking Te'o at 20.

Hopefully it's the same alternate reality where Dunn remembers how to hit.

Walking the guy batting .100. LOL!

Unless it's reasonably close to the line, it shouldn't be.

You almost never sacrifice with 1 out, so DeAza was most likely bunting for a hit, and if Kep did bunt, it would have taken the Indians less than half a second to decide to walk Rios to get to Dunn.

I believe that's what it's called when Brent Spiner analyzes your baseball stats.

ADA with a 7-pitch walk and then a stolen base. Great start!

1-2-3 first for Q.

Is Ventura a good game manager?
He said Dunn should bat 9th and that Flowers should bat after him, so that would make Flowers 10th.

Game Thread 4/24: CLE @ SOX
No, they'll either make it up on an off day or do a day-night doubleheader some day when it's warmer and the kids are out of school.

Is Ventura a good game manager?
This lineup is bad enough with 9 people in it. No need to add a 10th.
