  1. Please tell me that Seattle is in the other 30-40%, because I had their feed Friday on the MLBEI free preview and they were so f***ing boring I almost fell asleep.
  2. It wasn't just this game--officiating has been terrible all season. I've lost track of the number of times I've seen: Missed block/charge calls Guy with the ball loses ball due to being hacked but no call Guy with the ball is shoved and then called for traveling It's almost like the NCAA does not want teams to score. They've created a system that rewards teams who are very athletic and hyper-aggressive on defense but not necessarily skilled on offense.
  3. This is why I shouldn't post in the morning before having caffeine.
  4. Just watched the replay. How does that get called a strike? MLB needs to sanction that ump if they want the umps to continue to have any credibility with the teams.
  5. Comparing teams 1-5 Cincinnati and Detroit are pretty even St Louis is better than the Sox Pittsburgh and Kansas City are pretty even Cleveland is much better than the Cubs Minnesota is better than the Astros So overall the divisions are fairly comparable. I don't think strength of schedule will be the reason the Twins win more games than Houston.
  6. Annette Funicello, 70, actress/singer
  7. Margaret Thatcher, 87, British PM from 1979-1990.
  8. Some consolation for Cubs fans--only 312 days until pitchers and catchers report!
  9. Two observations: 1) This is one of the rare nights that I'm glad to be home in front of my TV instead of at the game 2) These Mariners announcers are so monotone and boring that I'm going to f***ing fall asleep.
  10. If a ball has crossed the plane of the wall, fans have the right to interfere with the ball on a home run just the same as with a foul ball. I'm not sure about players (or any other team/stadium employee) in the bullpen, but I would think they are not allowed to interfere.
  11. First Sox home night game of the season = annual reminder that I hate living in the Eastern time zone.
  12. Sox don't seem to share that hatred--they are 24-4 vs SEA since 2010.
  13. The White Sox and my late father are triggers that remind me of the other. It was very weird not picking up the phone and calling my Dad after the opening day victory.
  14. That's exactly why I don't mind Dunn striking out so much.
  15. With first base open and Viciedo up, a pitcher is a moron for thowing a fastball at any point in the count.
  16. Wait--he put a ball in play? Is that allowed?
  17. First earned run allowed by Sox pitching this season.
  18. Whatever it is that Viciedo just did, it caused Gameday to freeze up.
