  1. You are forgetting that it is March and Mike Brey is Notre Dame's coach.
  2. Interesting that Miami gets sent to Austin when Lexington is about 300 miles closer.
  3. Because CBS gives them a boatload of $$$ to play the game as the lead-in to the bracket show.
  4. He's switched it in the past hour or so. Not sure why. Palm still has IU in the Midwest.
  5. I just put $50 on IU getting the #1 in the Midwest over Louisville.
  6. Lunardi says no, in which case I will have to stay off Facebook for a couple days with all the angry U of L fans in my news feed.
  7. I know Mitchell isn't making the team no matter what but I thought maybe his performance so far would have earned him an extra week or something.
  8. He's a Cubs fan, but he's not completely stupid. There was no way he was going to do the bet straight up.
  9. Frank Haith may be the worst overall, but nobody is worse in March than Mike Brey. 16-22 combined in BIG EAST and NCAA tournament games, and only 3 times in 13 years did he even win two games in a single tournament, and has never won three.
  10. I have had a standing bet with a Cubs fan since 2001. I have the Sox, he has the Cubs. $5 a win (regular season only), and the team that won the most games the previous year has to give half of the previous year's differential the following year, so this year the Sox are -12. I'm up $115 over the 12 years of the bet.
  11. I predicted 85 last year and am predicting 86 this year. Look for the Sox to be a 90-win team in 2017.
  12. I want them to get in if for no other reason than to hear Dickie V whine about how some mediocre SEC, Big 12, or Pac 12 team should be in instead.
  13. Yes, Gonzaga and Indiana are pretty much locks for #1 seeds. Louisville probably locks one up with a win tonight. Kansas may get the last one over Duke if they win the Big 12 tournament but Duke might still get it as well. I don't see Miami getting one, especially since now they can't beat Duke.
  14. Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh going to the ACC in 2013 Louisville going to ACC in 2014 Rutgers going to BIG in 2014 Georgetown, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Villanova, DePaul, and Marquette form the "new" Big East in 2013 Connecticut, Cincinnati, and South Florida joined by Houston, Memphis, SMU, Central Florida, and Temple in 2013; Tulane and East Carolina in 2014 and Navy in 2015.
  15. Yes, part of the separation deal is that the Catholic 7 get to keep the BIG EAST name and have their tournament at MSG.
  16. While there is a lull between the afternoon and evening sessions for most tournaments, there is an interesting documentary on ESPNU about the tornado that his the 2008 SEC Tournament in Atlanta.
  17. Watching Butler-LaSalle on my laptop and Wisconsin on TV and seriously considering firing up NC State-Virginia on my phone.
