  1. Quick someone take a screen shot and hang it up on a wall. We're witnessing history!
  2. I'm kind of hoping it's the Yankees now.
  3. If we don't trade with Baltimore does that mean our resident Baltimore fans go away? If so I'm liking the New York teams ideas alot more.
  4. The market shifts. It always does. There will be new teams involved at the deadline due to injuries or where they are at in the standings.
  5. Honestly it just makes me laugh because he sounds like the Red Sox fans before Sale got traded. Thinking that a trade like that for a pitcher wouldn't hurt substantially is amazing.
  6. Or the other option where no trade is made until the deadline
  7. What date is it today? Did the regular season start?
  8. You shouldn't have answered him. He's going to twist himself into a pretzel to try and convince everyone that Getz was somehow directly involved in the trade talks last trade deadline with 100% certainty.
  9. This is fucking rich coming from you.
  10. I'm just so pleased that after all the years this forum has been active we have the arbiter of sports discussion finally onboard. He's really setting off to show his knowledge of baseball and to correct every little nuance that he deems wrong. It's a privilege really.
  11. I think this all devolves into one question. Who cares? They may be absurd we see it and laugh at it. We see absurd opinions on here we laugh. Who's hurt?
  12. Chris Getz probably discovered recordings that Rick Hahn had in his office. Just like Nixon during the Watergate scandal. That's how he figured it out.
  13. How do you know this? I want to hear your thought process behind this.
  14. So far they've had a dismal offseason.
  15. In another conversation anyone want to try and figure out with me which was worse today the Sale trade or Montas's contract? I'm leaning towards Montas.
  16. and in his opening remarks when was he was hired he said as much. But like I said in my reply to him how does he know what Getz's role was in those conversations? It sounds to me like he didn't like the direction of anything going on with this club for years.
  17. Yes you absolutely did. That's why you have all that word salad in this post. How the hell do you know what Getz's role was in those conversations. Despite your conviction the answer could be he knew almost nothing because that's not what his role was. Also if you knew what Kenny and Ricks tenure/roles were during the past few decades you would see how silly that statement was.
  18. and today was a perfect picture of why being patient was the right move. Teams are overpaying massively for pitchers that have barely pitched in the past year or two. Cease's games pitched over the past two years is a huge asset. The market for pitching is horrendous.
  19. How the hell did he miss that one lol
  20. I'll just say this. Your passive aggressive BS is going to be very short lived on here.
  21. I'll speak for him and everyone. But no one on here wants your advice on how to post better.
  22. I think this dude is related to someone we are talking about. He's taking it so so personally that we have different opinions on another teams prospects it's hilarious.
  23. May be a silly question. But what the f*** is your problem?
  24. Yeah they can and it gave me a laugh
  25. Maybe I'm the only one but I have no problem with what Getz is doing. First there's definitely an epidemic of non aggressive GMs in major league baseball. Even the aggressive ones *cough cough* Atlanta are making very minimally impactful moves. Maybe they can't meet the sales price for Cease. So what? Who's fault is that? We have the market cornered with the best asset available with 2 years in his contract. If these teams want to trade for Chris Sale with his arm about to fall off all the power to them. They'll have to answer to their owners why they got bounced out of the playoffs in the first round. Keep the asking price high because the prices for non impactful pitchers is high too. Let them make the mistakes and wait for the desperation to set it. May take it to the trade deadline.
