Havin Baron Davis helps of course.
  3. I think Ozzie knows how important the rotation is as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure he said just give me 5 good starters and 1 closer. I think Jon Rauch or Josh Stewart could be the 5th starter, and we should sign 1 veteran to be our #3. Here's a possible rotation, 1) Mark Buerhle 2) Esteban Loaiza 3) Livan Hernandez 4) Jon Garland 5) Jon Rauch or another veteran e.g Brian Anderson. Also I think we'll target Chad Fox an ex Florida guy to help solidify our bullpen, not make it worse like that other off season signing, Rick White.
  4. Well I guess we should be at least thankful that it's only for 1 year deal and we're not stuck with him long term. But it's a bit worrying we don't have a real SS prospect to replace him like a Chase Utley or Bobby Crosby.
  5. Absolutely agree with ya there. I certainly don't like his on base percentage, and he certainly isn't an everyday outfielder in my mind, maybe only a pinch runner. I'd like to see the Sox make a run at Ponson, Livan Hernandez, Brian Anderson, Pat Hentgen or Wilson Alvarez to help solidify their rotation.
  6. I think the reason why their Defense is playin so well, is because they hav so much depth on their Defensive Line. Guys like Ogbugdo, Coleman and Daleroy Stewart can interchange so much, it means in the 4th they still hav fresh guys to rush the QB. Plus with Newman and Roy Williams the best Safety in da game, ur defense has gotta be good.

    Quick Rant

Sounds like the Mom could do with sum Anger Manage - Ment courses, and remember ppl's that 3 words, not 2.
  8. I remember the White Sox almost comin away with Russ Ortiz from da Giants durin da meetings but he went to Hotlanta instead. Most of the deals will be based around money anyways, that's the situation teams r in at the moment.
  9. Winter Meetings start on Monday in Phoenix for da GM's
  10. Well Greg Williams is on the hot seat rite now, bet Tom Donahue wishes he picked John Fox instead. Maybe though if the Bills used max protection with their backs and tight end, Moulds and Drew could put up some production. And yeah the Cowboys haven't really played too many hard teams, but u still gotta giv em credit for havin da best record in the NFC.
  11. We definitely should not do this deal, unless we make it a 3 way deal, where Cedeno is dumped off to another club, and we get prospects or a good starting pitcher in return. If Vlad leaves Montreal, the Expos mite look at Cedeno to replace him, and mayb we can steal Livan Hernandez off em if we giv em a prospect or some cash.
  12. I think Castillo will be a Yank so we can count him out.
  13. How much is that sponsorship deal that U.S Cell is actually payin Jerry Reinsdorf worth?
  14. Skoula scores in OT, Hawks lose but still get a OT point.
  15. Looks like Ozzie's gonna try and work some magic with big Willie style, From Sportingnews.com OF/IF Willie Harris will be working extensively with new manager Ozzie Guillen on bunting and using his speed as a leadoff hitter. Guillen says he would like Harris to become a player similar to Marlins CF Juan Pierre. 40-MAN ROSTER WATCH RHP Enemencio Pacheco moved up the organization's prospect list by going 12-2 at Class AA last season. Pacheco, 25, has a mid-90s fastball and good control. He most likely will begin 2004 at Class AAA Charlotte. A starter last season, Pacheco might have the makeup and talent to be a closer. The transition could begin this year.
  16. I think we offered him that 3 year deal, 6 million in 2003, 8 million in 2004, and 8.5 million with a $500,000 buyout in 2005, at the end of last season. Every1 seemed ok with it cos he'd hit sumthin over .300 in the first half of last season and was in the HR derby if I can recall.
  17. I think it was in another FoxSports or ESPN article, and I actually think he'll end up with da Angels. No matta how much money the'll throw at him, I really don't think Bartolo wants to go to the pressure cooker down at the Bronx. I think da Yanks will end up with Schilling instead. The Colon thing was in a Foxsports article on their team fly-bys. What they need: No. 1 priority is starting pitcher and Bartolo Colon is tops on their list.
  18. Now 3-3 in the 3rd, goals to Tanguay and Konalwalchuk. Leighton and Aebischer keepin.
  19. Here's da link, ESPN Article Look at this though, The Mets will see if the White Sox will swap Billy Koch's $6.375 million contract for Roger Cedeno and his remaining $10.6 million, split the difference and reunite Koch with pitching coach Rick Peterson. Paul Konerko, Jim Edmonds, J.D. Drew, Odalis Perez, Eric Milton, Mike Lowell, Derrek Lee, A.J. Burnett and Freddy Garcia are all players whose names -- and contracts -- will be mentioned. The White Sox, whose three-year, $36 million offer to Bartolo Colon was far less in present day value because of stacked deferrals at no interest, have serious payroll issues.
  20. Currently up 3-1 in the 2nd. Goals to Arnie, Dempsey and Poapst. Looks like firing Smith really shook this team up in the rite direction.
  21. Looks like my Boys showed Drew who was boss today. They were blitzing 8 guys all da time, he neva had a chance. Dallas's D is the best in da league rite now, which is good cos their offence ain't too much betta since they don't hav much of a runnin game.
  22. Hmm he's a first baseman. Maybe a possibility if Konerko departs, especially if he only wants bout $2 million, low risk high reward type of situation. If Anaheim want him, that means Spiezio is definitely on the outers there, but I think the Angels made Colon their no. 1 priority this off-season.

    Maggs

The main rumor from New York is Maggs and Cotts for Soriano and Johnson. I don't wanna give up Cotts, but if we can giv up say a Felix Diaz or Pacheco instead then I'm all for makin that deal. But that'll only happen if KW can't ship Billy Koch of to the Mets and Paul Konerko to the Dodgers or O's. With Shawn Green now willing to play 1st, the chances of Konerko gettin dealt r even smaller, especially when there's rumors of the Brwers dealin Richie Sexson who's a stud just cos of his contract ending in 2004 of $8.25 milliion I think.
