  1. Seattle will make a big bid for him or Troy Glaus this off-season.
  2. Counsell wouldn't be a bad idea at all. He could back up at 2B, SS and 3B. Definitely an excellent bench player to have.

Congrats Kap, on your new house. Hope u hav fun with all the painting and renovating that you'll be doing.
  4. Jose would want 3 to $4 mill to resign with us though. I believe Uribe would make about $500-750,000 next season, correct me if I'm wrong. I'd rather keep Uribe, and use the money we'd save on resigning Jose towards some bullpen help.
  5. The SS market is stocked this year, with Renteria, Nomar, Cabrera and Vizquel. I'd think we'd able to sign sum1 to fill our need at SS, but if we can't and worse comes to worse, we use Uribe and Valdez. Uribe is streaky, but he's worth persisting with.
  6. Harris shouldn't be leading off for this team, he's too inconsistent for that. But I wouldn't mind him hitting #9 and being our starting second baseman at all. He's just got to learn how to put the ball into play more to use his speed effectively, and get on base more.
  7. No doubt that will be Shapiro's #1 priority this off-season, improving the bullpen. They've been much better since Bob Wickman and Bobby Howry have been pitching though, but they'd definitely want to add 2 more guys in there at least. Another starter to join Sabathia, Lee and Westbrook would be pretty high on the list as well, but don't expect them to break the bank.
  8. Charlotte lost to Richmond 7-5. Munoz got hammered, 5 innings, 7 ER. Adam Larson pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief. Torres, Nelson and Bell had multi - hit games. Box Score Winston Salem beat Salem 7-1. Great start for Sean Tracey going 7 innings, with 2 BB, 6 K's and 1 ER. Rogowski, Fields and Becker all homered for the Warthogs. Box Score
  9. I can't really see Cleveland wanting to deal with us though. If we lose Garland though, we'll probably hav to sign 2 starters in the offseason.
  10. If we can't get a top notch starter, we sign Loaiza for bout $2 or $3 mil to be the 4th or 5th starter.
  11. I think most ppl gave Konerko the benefit of the doubt however because he had a proven track record, a really good season the year before. Crede really hasn't done that, and that's why I think a lot of ppl want sum1 else in at third.
  12. I wouldn't say that's equal value at all, Gerut has struggled this year, and Garland could turn around and get it like that. So I'll say no to that.

Can u just say Castaway all over again.
  14. I think this trade is really a win - win for both teams. Reed is gonna be a great center fielder for the M's in the next 5 to 10 years, and Miggy should develop further as well.
  15. No I haven't seen that yet YASNY so nice find there. I'm actually suprised Sickels has decided to talk about a White Sox prospect for a change, it's always usually a Yankees, Red Sox or Cubs prospect that he usually talks about. If B-Mac can add some more juice to his fastball, then he'll become even better, but it's real good he's learnt how to control his stuff so good, when he has to.
  16. Where's a sharpie when ya need it. Better ask Terrell Owens.
  17. That's exactly my reasons too for posting on this site, well firstly when I joined, it was just to keep up with more White Sox news, and I'd probably never thought I'd post as much as I did at the time. Mods shouldn't be considered as "Figure Heads" put up on a pedestal above all other posters here on SoxTalk, that's not the case at all. I post on this site because I want to and I enjoy it, I have made some great friends which I would really like to meet one day if I had the oppurtunity. I think the rotating Mod thing is an excellent idea, just to keep things fresh and to give others on here, and there are a lot on here who deserve the chance to help contribute more around the site. I would certainly be willing to do it, even though I've just started as a mod, just to give someone else a chance. Everyone around here wants to make these boards better all the time and that's all we're trying to do. I suppose we're all on here discussing these things anyways because of the way the Sox have been playing. Thanx guys.
  18. Weclome aboard to SoxTalk err0r. I know the few Mariners fans we've had post on here from time to time have been pure class as well. We were all upset at losing Miggy at the time of the trade, we thought he was going to be with the White Sox for a long, long time. Potential wise, he could be a Jason Kendall type, a guy that could hit about .280 to .300 with 20 steals if he's allowed to turn loose on the basepath. He has a cannon of an arm as well. Good to see he's calling games better as well, that was probably the one query on him while he was here, guys like Buerhle didn't want to throw to him. Ben Davis's turnaround has been quite amazing to watch really. The first few weeks we had him he really sat on the bench and did nothing, most of the people thought, he was nothing more than a fill - in, and wouldn't be around after the season. However, Greg Walker helped fixed his swing, something minor I think that was actually pointed out by his Dad, and he's been hitting real well ever since. Seems to get a lot of CLUTCH hits, which is more than a lot of other hitters on the White Sox can say. We want to resign him at the end of the year, and we think we can still get him pretty cheap because we turned his his career around. I think he can hit .260 to .270 consistently, and if resigned, he'll be our everyday catcher in 2005.
  19. Crede is really an interesting story. Personally I think we need some new blood in at third. Even when Joe was struggling early in the season, I was defending him because I was telling everyone else, don't worry, he'll come around, he's a 2nd half hitter, but he hasn't done that at all this season, in fact he's not even an everyday player now. If we have an oppurtunity to get a Corey Koskie or Chone Figgins in this lineup, then we should do it in my opinion. Crede would be good trade bait to use, and I think most teams in the league would think they could turn him around.
