  1. It's a good day to be a White Sox fan. Big steal for Atlanta.
  2. The only way we'd be able to get Soriano is if we include another prospect like a Kris Honel as a minimum along with Cotts. Plus, Soriano's makin quite a bit this year, so we'd hav to ship out sum payroll like Koch as well. Sorry but I can't see us gettin Soriano, like to, but we won't.
  3. Kelly Dransfeldt was originally with the Texas Rangers. Drafted in the 4th round, 1996. He played 36 games for them over 3 years, never hittin better than .189. Actually he hasn't hit well in the minors as well.
  4. Thanx for the report there Cerb, I think Shoe hurt his fingernail in the 3rd or 4th of that game, and then he started to pitch bad, although at least he kept pitchin. Reed's been gettin betta with every game, startin to look quite impressive out there now. Hmmm Texas scoutin Cotts, well no suprise really, they need pitchin in the worst way. Don't know who they would give up to us though.
  5. Damn, u guys really did get off topic. I'm impressed.
  6. US fast food giant McDonald's has done a deal with a company to sell a new line of clothing called McKids in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and South Korea. Clothing company Shanghai Longtrust would be responsible for the design, manufacture, distribution and promotion of clothing, accessories and footwear in those markets, McDonald's said in statement. McDonald's first introduced the McKids line in 1987 and has expanded it to cover footwear, toys, games, videos, music, books and other products. McKids products are already on sale in Shanghai, and would be available in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan and western Europe early next year, it said. The company has some 600 fast food outlets in China and plans to nearly double those by 2008 in time for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
  7. Here's da article, Rosenthal's Piece White Sox: A speedy utility man who could bat leadoff is their top priority. The desired profile is a Mark McLemore/Tony Womack-type who could play second base, enabling Willie Harris to spell Aaron Rowand in center, and also third, giving Joe Crede an occasional breather. Marlon Anderson, about to be dumped by the Cardinals, and Alex Cora, the younger brother of White Sox coach Joey Cora, are two possibilities, though neither is particularly appealing.
  8. She still thinks I go to Primary School.
  9. From da Cubune, TUCSON, Ariz.—Jon Garland is determined to keep his infielders busy this season. "I want the ground balls," Garland said after six shutout innings Wednesday. "I want the infielders to work for me. That's what they are paid to do." Garland improved to 4-0 with the 8-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners. He gave up four hits in his 91-pitch outing, walking three and striking out two. "That's what we expect from him," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "He threw a lot of ground balls, he was hitting his spots and throwing strikes." Garland lowered his ERA to 2.34 in 221/3 innings. The Sox are counting on Garland to make a major step up this season and solidify the top of the starting rotation. "I'm not giving in this year," he said. "If I walk a guy, then I walk a guy and I'll go get the next one." … Most of the regulars are going to get Thursday off. Guillen said probably starting Saturday against the Rangers, the regulars will be playing the rest of the way with the pitchers being used as if it were the regular season. … Magglio Ordonez is being given the next couple of days off to take care of personal matters. … Guillen said he wants Willie Harris to play a couple of innings in center field so he'll be ready if needed there in an emergency. "Hopefully, [Aaron] Rowand stays healthy and we won't need [a backup]," Guillen said. "But if that situation comes up, I feel comfortable to put Willie back there and [Juan] Uribe at second base." … The roster may sort itself out after Friday's game. If Dan Wright throws well against the Rockies, the fifth spot in the rotation will be his and the Sox will have to decide whether to carry 11 or 12 pitchers. If it's 12, which is likely, they then will have to decide between Jamie Burke and Kelly Dransfeldt as the 25th man. "I think Burke is very important," Guillen said. "I only have two catchers. I might pinch-hit or pinch-run for one of my catchers and then I'm short." Burke can catch or play third; Dransfeldt can play short or third. If Wright doesn't throw well, then those decisions may wait until the final days of camp.
