They must hav seen our Hot Chick Contest. Britney Spears has shown that with enough headlines, anything can happen: she is officially the sexiest woman in the world. That is, of course, according to readers of lads' mag FHM, who voted the sexy singer No.1 in the magazine's annual Top 100 global poll. Britney has been all over the news of late for various reasons, little of them to do with her chart-topping successes. There was "that kiss" with Madonna, "that wedding" with high school sweetheart Jason Alexander, "that comment" about the size of former flame Justin Timberlake's manhood during "that teary interview", "that snog" with Colin Farrell and "that flight attendant" routine in her latest film clip for Toxic. While it might have been a shock to see Britney leap from No.5 in 2003 to the head of the class this year, FHM's Australian editor John Bastick wasn't the least bit surprised. "She's gorgeous, she's talented, women want to be her and men want to be with her, so really, Britney's elevation to the No.1 spot really came as no surprise," he said. "In fact, the only real surprise was that she hadn't won the whole thing sooner." Former Neighbours starlet Holly Valance came in as the top Aussie at No.5 on the international list, proving record sales has nothing to do with sex appeal, while last year's victorious kitten Halle Berry fell to No.6. On Australia's local list, tallied from around 250,000 Australian and New Zealand votes, Delta Goodrem came in at No.2 behind Britney, while Holly was No.9. International babes on the local top 10 included Jessica Alba (No.3), Christina Aguilera (No.4), Paris Hilton (No.5) and Halle Berry (No.10) Editors of FHM's 22 international editions estimate that around 10 million males around the globe voted in this year's poll. In fact, a male even made the list in Australia: Courtney Act, Australian Idol's tantislising transvestite, who confused more than a few red-blooded blokes with his sexy routines, including steely judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson. The full chart of babes was officially released at a champagne breakfast in Sydney today. International Top 10 1. Britney Spears 2. Rachel Stevens 3. Beyonce Knowles 4. Carmen Electra 5. Holly Valance 6. Halle Berry 7. Jennifer Lopez 8. Jordan 9. Angelina Jolie 10. Elisha Cuthbert Australia and NZ Top 10 1.Britney Spears 2.Delta Goodrem 3. Jessica Alba 4. Christina Aguilera 5. Kylie Minogue 6. Paris Hilton 7. Imogen Bailey 8. Sophie Monk 9. Holly Valance 10. Halle Berry

Responses from down here, PRIME Minister John Howard today joined other critics in giving the thumbs down to United States President George W Bush's jokes about weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq. The president hosted a black-tie media event in Washington in which he poked fun at his staff and himself for not finding the alleged stash of weapons that bolstered the case for invading Iraq. But political rivals and family members of soldiers serving in Iraq quickly took him to task over the jokes' appropriateness. "I wouldn't have told those jokes. I wouldn't have," Mr Howard told Channel 9. "Every country has it's own style but I'm an extremely cautious person about those things." Australian Greens leader Senator Bob Brown last week said the jibes were in bad taste and warranted an apology. "It was rotten to joke about a process which has cost 500 coalition lives and up to 50,000 Iraqi lives," Mr Brown said earlier today. "His joke shows poor judgment, poor rapport with those in Iraq and appalling leadership." The jokes came at Wednesday night's annual Radio and Television Correspondents Association dinner in the US capital. In a 10-minute, mostly puckish, self-deprecating speech, the president presented a slide show he called an election-year, White House photo album. In several photos, he appeared to be searching the Oval Office. A photo of Mr Bush looking under a piece of furniture was flashed on the large projection screens in the ballroom. "Those weapons of mass destruction got to be here somewhere," Mr Bush said in his narration, drawing laughter from the audience of journalists, politicians, bureaucrats and other guests. Another photo showed him looking through a window. "Nope, no weapons over there," the president said.

-
Damnit! Stupid Oklahoma State.
-
Go the Hawks! Nelson betta bring it home. And Cheat, we mite hav sum clutch shots as well.
-
Damn I still had 2 years of High School to go back then.
-
Good to see Borchard hitting well again. If only he hadn't of gotten injured, but it looks like that hasn't got him down. Hopefully he can continue it down it Charlotte.
-
Way to go UConn! I only need 2 more wins from them now, although their next game against probably Duke has all the makings of a classic.
-
That's why we're very thankful for da job u mods do round here, so we don't hav idiots like that postin in here.

Well we had a lot of minor league pitching to give up, and I really like the look of this trade. I think Ozzie can really do some good things with Perez, I'd expect the K's to drop and BB's to rise a little in the future. With Cameron their new CF, they didn't really need Perez any more, very good move for us. Here's our 4th outfielder, which prob means Burke misses out now if they go with 12 pitchers.

Hairston is now out till May. Could be a good oppurtunity for Roberts to prove himself at the top of the O's order. If he does well, they mite be in a position to trade Hairston Jr., but they would want sum quality pitching prospects in return. Remember, Hairston was hittin bout .270 last season and was on pace to steal 40 bases I think before he got injured, so he seems to be quite injury prone as well.

What happened to those playin at home Cheat?
-
When is Runvelys Hernandez supposed to be pitchin for them again. Pretty sure he was da guy who beat Colon in the season opener last season.
-
Why not? My bad, even Wunsch could take ova for Marte, he did hav sum pretty insane numbers bf he got injured last season.
-
I think if Mr. Zero can show he can handle bein the lefty setup man, and if Koch continues to struggle, Marte will close.

Reitsma to the Braves for Bong and Bubba
DBAHO replied to KipWellsFan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
That's two pitchers now the Braves had traded for. Reds need all the pitching prospects they can get though. I dunno if long term Reitsma will stay in da pen. I think he's either a starter or closer like John Smoltz. And they expect Cruz to pitch in da pen as well. -
Bit hard to do that afta we traded him (Miles) to Colorado.
-
Nice work Steve on da thread. I'm proud of ya.
-
They do need Young still because Sorinao will likely play in CF. We should go afta Spivey 1st, then Vidro. I've also heard Damian Jackson can be had very cheaply, since Miles beat him out for the 2B job I believe.

Who's Nick Smith?
