Soto's underlying metrics are still outrageously good. I'll go out on a limb and say he won't BABIP .171 forever.
If the Padres want out of the Juan Soto business, please, by all means, send him here.
It's fascinating to me we're all able to overlook Lopez getting off to a bad start whereas Bummer allows 1 base runner and people freak out.
Bummer has a 3.16 career ERA. Last year it was 2.36. He has always been effective up to this point in his career.
I don't like the idea of turning a plus defender at 3rd into another defensive negative. But there are no good solutions given the roster construction.
