Colson's OPS in Winston dropped below 1.300. Only 3 walks for him tonight. Too early to panic?

Just illustrates how bad the minor league pitching is. Seemingly every day, I look at the completed box scores and just shake my head at how terrible it is.
And how unimaginative they are to create depth. Shaw's roster spot should be used on waiver claims, relievers currently blocked on 40-mans, etc

It's such a waste of everyone's time that Bryan Shaw is occupying a roster spot

He never struck me as someone who could handle starting every 5th day
Because he's never done it consistently at all in his life?

Yaz showing a pulse just in time to get traded for a D+ prospect

Dunning would be nice to have, but there's nothing sustainable about what he's doing this year. Lynn was essential to winning the division in 2021. I criticize Hahn all the time, but that trade isn't one to hammer him for.

So the Sox want Colas to dial back his energy during games bc he is supposedly always at a 10. They want him more like a 7 or 8.
If everyone else is at a 7 or 8 I don't want him to follow suit bc this is horrendous baseball. Maybe drop it to a 9 lol
Colas has a 60% gb rate, a .235 OBP and has been one of the worst players in baseball this year. They should work on those things with him too

It’s astonishing how bad the Madrigal, Vaughn, Crochet picks ended up being
Those 3 might all be busts, but at least the rest of those draft classes are looking good 🙂

Keep grooving more fastballs right down the middle

This is pathetic

Sheets has seemingly lost all power also
He never really had it. His batted ball quality has always been bad.

Worst ERA's for Sox starters since 2000. 100 IP requirement. Some interesting names on here for those of you who have also been playing immaculate grid lately.- 1

Good things happen when Eloy elevates the ball

Todd Ritchie. Jim Parque. Jon Rauch. Who else sucked?
2021 Keuchel, James Shields, Derek Holland, Dylan Axelrod, & Mike Pelfrey come to mind

I'm ready to be watching Sosa play every day in Chicago. It's time.

Seriously ... Eloy, you're injury prone, stretch before the game you lazy PoS! It's unbelievable
Not letting anyone off the hook, but every game I've been to for years Eloy has been on the field stretching beforehand. I don't think that's the issue

We didn’t gain any ground in the standings and possibly lost a game despite the series win.
Valuable ground lost though for those of us who regularly check tankathon. Colorado is building a gap between them and the Sox at #3.

Eloy 😆
Look for him to miss time for the 19th time since he came up to the Sox.
😆
Please trade his ass for whatever you can. More unfulfilled potential in part because of that big contract before proving anything.
The Sox won this series because too many guys on Atlanta signed extensions before proving anything

Is Scholtens officially a reliever now? So their starter depth is Touki and ???
I think he'll become a starter once Gio & Lynn are gone. He's just in limbo atm

Andrus continuing to play every day is a waste of everyone's time

Genuinely not sure I've ever seen a pitcher with a 5 run gap between their ERA and FIP this late in a season before

Low leverage Bummer is one of the best relievers in baseball

Giolito, Lynn & Clevinger will all be gone after this season. There's no one in Birmingham or Charlotte who's any better than Kopech for 2024. It'll be dumpster diving again in free agency to fill out the rotation.
Even if Kopech is a ~5 ERA guy who can barely go 5 innings, that would make him the 2nd best starter in the organization for 2024. He has to stay in the rotation for the time being, even if he'll eventually transition back to being a reliever again

I would say overhauling player development (pitching specifically) is the most pressing organizational issue aside from replacing Jerry, Kenny, and Rick.
