QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 11:06 PM) Happy for the Astros, they did it the right way. Good drafting, good scouting, and timely trades. Looking forward to the Sox doing the same +40

WS: Dodgers v Astros
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 10:12 PM) I'm pulling for Houston. I pretty much always root for the team that hasnt won (with one notable exception). Dodgers fans (and LA fans) have had enough sporting success. That's my logic as well.

Well, regardless, grab the drink of your choice and cheers to the last day of the Cubs being reigning World Series champions

Why does it seem like everybody here is pro-Dodgers? Why would you ever pull for the Dodgers? They're basically the California Cubs.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) @AndyMcCullough Rich Hill was very unhappy with Yuli Gurriel's gesture to Yu Darvish in Game 3. Hill stepped off the mound so the fans could boo more. and then left early. Good on him.

WS: Dodgers v Astros
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) As much as I'd like to see baseball be the #1 sport in this country again, it's not gonna happen. Football will still be king for the foreseeable future. The people who are boycotting the NFL because of the protests will forget about it soon enough and watch again. Regular season baseball games as stand alone events are a tough sell. The excitement of these games have a lot to do with how much these games matter. Regular season games just do not matter as much as NFL games

Our Next Manager?
QUOTE (Quin @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 10:01 AM) It was disgraceful when the Cubs did it, it'd be disgraceful if the Sox fire Ricky solely to hire Girardi. I think Ricky earned next season. I disagree. He was average at best. If you have an opportunity to get a better manager, you do it.

I pay for MLB.tv so the White Sox become the Astros. I love this Astros team.

Got my Pixel 2 XL Thursday. If the screen weren't so wonky, this would be the best phone on the market.

NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers
QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 08:18 AM) I have to say, I just don't get some Sox fans' impulse to defend Jose Quintana's honor endlessly -- on these boards, to their Cub fan friends, etc. I don't begrudge anyone their attachment to certain players, but it's just not how I look at the sports world, so I find it fascinating. I root for teams, not players. Maybe I'd make an exception for a true White Sox legend who plays a short stint for another team at the end of his career (ala Frank Thomas), but when a player's not on the Sox anymore, they're gone to me. Especially when they go to a team I don't like. Q plays for the Cubs now. I can't stand the Cubs. I hope the world looks back on the trade as an absolute fleecing by Hahn. Admit it. You cheer for the laundry.

NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:21 PM) Are Cubs fans booing? Classy. I'm partial to the traditional "cheering for all fly balls". Nothing is more Cub than cheering for popouts.

well, that didn't take long. Apparently, Kiké Hernandez has saved Puerto Rico or some crap.

Realignment/Expansion
Some have projected that the Austin-San Antonio corridor would be a top 10 market by 2050. Problem is, if you built a stadium between Austin and San Antonio, the north of Austin (where the money is made) and the south of San Antonio would struggle to get to the games. And count me as AGAINST any alignment that puts the Cubs in our division. The Cubs bring out the stupid among Sox fans.
