Jimenez could be heading to AA soon
Love that he's always projected in the 3-4 spot of a future White Sox lineup. I'm so ready for next spring.

Moncada posts productive Fenway return
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) Prepare to be disappointed. SB attempts around the league are at an all time low, pitchers and catchers have better arm than ever. Homeruns are at an all time high and that's the main focus of many players, even from the traditional non-power positions. Sox as a team also do not run a lot. We have guys like Anderson, Leury, Engel, and even Saladino who stole more 40 bags in a minor league season, but really were not asked to run a lot. Sabreheads don't value steals as much because steals in and of themselves knowingly put people on base at risk of being out.

Sox vs Stros game 2
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) I don't mind us kicking Houston's ass. I can't stand their fan base. They have a fan base? I live 180 miles away and I have yet to meet a real Astros fan

Reverse Standings Thread
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 05:21 AM) The Sox had Q and a pretty good bullpen for most of this season. Since they got rid of those guys, they are 3-19. Lopez and Giolitto will have to be lights out to make this a team a 90 loss roster, and they couldn't even do that in Charlotte where the Knights are 20 under .500. Shame on those two pitchers for not carrying a team of career MiLBers to victory. There's literally no rationality in your posts sometimes. This one takes the cake.

QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) Seriously, what did you want this team to do? You were against signing free agents. Trading for big names. You screamed hero worship at every poster. What is your wish, other than to be different from everyone else? He wants to be able to say "I told you so", but he's always wrong, soooooo

Jurickson Profar and Domonic Brown
I'm not sure I make a move for Profar and I'm not sure the Rangers would accept a deal from us for Profar. I wanted to like the kid, but injuries and some unfortunate timing have dimmed his star.

Can Rodon become a quality mlb starter?
Yes, he can.

Sox v Sox
QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 10:08 PM) Lousy slide by Moncada at third base. Belly slide, and he short armed it. Out. Feet first, he makes it. And when Nicky was picked off second, it looked to me as if the infielder was blocking the base before he had the ball. Oh, well. Yeah, luckily none of that matters.

Melky Cabrera Traded To Royals
QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) You need vets like Melky during rebuilds. Bad trade imo Even if that were true (it's not), we don't need Melky and Abreu And veteran locker room guys are cheap.

Wall Street Journal story on Sox rebuild...
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 11:48 PM) So instead of enjoying the "rebuild" as you suggest I do during the 2010-2016 timeframe, I, like you, instead had to endure the horrific baseball we saw these past several years before the baseball guys were finally able to convince the stubborn owner to move in the advisable direction of a rebuild. This is really an interesting development. A number of people on here (I was not one of them) cited JR's age as a reason we didn't rebuild. It sure looks like they were right. I guess it's not hard to believe an owner in his 70s doesn't want to rebuild.

BIG PELF TO THE RESCUE!!! July 27th Game Thread: White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) I don't know why people say it doesn't matter. All seasons go down in the history books and if the rebuild doesn't result in excellence you better believe Jerry will remember the embarrassing records in 2017 and 2018. Better hope the lineup of Eloy in left, Robert in center, Rutherford in right; Burger at third, TA at short, Moncada at 2B and Abreu at first and Collins catcher and Avi DH to go with 5-6 outstanding arms equals 100 victory seasons. You forgot likely two more high first round picks.

BIG PELF TO THE RESCUE!!! July 27th Game Thread: White Sox
QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:45 PM) the tank is on for sure.... However I'm not sure I've seem many teams in my life as bad as we are now.. It doesn't really matter.. but wow is this team horribad. White Sox teams? There's a baseball team this bad almost every year. Good organizations know when to blow it up and know what it takes to rebuild. Tons of them are doing it.

Teams with BA #1/2 prospect rankings not to make playoffs within 5 yea
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:17 PM) Moncada k'ing 30-40% of the time. Jimenez and Rutherford aren't out of this world hitters at corner outfield spots, making them 1.5-2.25 fWAR guys. Kopech never finds his control or gets hurt. Cease and Giolito already with one TJS. Most of the hurlers have concerns about durability, or pitchability, as starters. Robert doesn't live up to his hype. See article above... two consecutive high draft picks will likely mitigate some of that risk. That's why you stockpile. Odds of all of those things happening and two high first round picks busting starts to become VERY low.

Sports Media discussion
QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ May 24, 2017 -> 06:35 AM) I recently listened to ESPN radio 1000 in the afternoon on the TuneIn radio app and noticed how bad some of those shows are from a learning standpoint compared to Bernstein and Goff. I do think that B&G gets old after some time and even to an extent the morning show on 670, but that might be because of the fact it is the Cubs flagship station and heading the Go Cubs Go song and World Series highlights gets old after several hours of listening. I do like the humor on the afternoon show on AM 1000 and their transition is better. I grew up with McNeil, Jurko and Harry and loved them, the show that was on before them in that slot with Lou Connelis (who is unbearable on Fox now) and also enjoyed McNeil and Spiegel as well. I prefer B&G to W&S, but I do occasionally get tired of the Cubbie laying it on thick attitude. Does Dave Wischnowsky ever say anything intelligent?

Wall Street Journal story on Sox rebuild...
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:35 PM) Failed is harsh. 45 years of sub-par ownership is more realistic Agreed. Far be it for me to defend ownership because I sure as hell had been frustrated with them for the better part of a decade before recent events, but failed owners don't have championships. You can't take a real failed owner like Mikhail Prokhorov and compare him to Jerry Reinsdorf.
